Miller you mad?

Exactly why we never joined TRAM or never intend on joining an alliance.

But as you say, People play the game in many different way's. I still see the same old TR outfits & Players sitting in tanks shelling spawn rooms like their life depended on it.. Surely they must get tired of it?

As an NC on Miller, i can safely say that TR in most of of the alerts hold the population advantage. And while it's easy to say that you can win if you stick together and have a plan at the ready, you'll most likely spend hours taking out brushfires or concentrating a large portion of your continent population to win a particular base while the 3rd faction is backdooring. Numbers matter. You cant take on everybody at once, you'll get spread thin, you cant focus everything on the biggest fight either.

On the other hand, at this very moment there's an Esamir alert going on and NC are mostly known to capture that particular continent on Miller (i have no idea why), they also hold the majority of territory there right now, and TR outnumber us. We could easily defend this continent if those fighting on Indar would join the effort, but most are either oblivious to it or just go on about their business.

It's pretty hard to swallow that WHEN a situation like this presents itself and we are in a position to easily win a "capture a continent" alert they dont seem to even bother. The NC capturing Indar on Miller would, in my personal experience, be a first anyway.

It's dishearting to see such statements, as behind NCTO there are individuals who have put lots of their time and effort to make something. You could at least try to voice your concerns, provide some suggestions and even step in once in a while to show how would you like to see NCTO working.

It reminds me the amp stations alert on Amerish, yesterday.
    A shame.
We were only very few vanu to play the alert while all the others were doing a 48+ zerg on Indar, because most of the TR moved to Amerish so it was easier to conquer everything.

It is sad, but it seems that the NC and the VS gave up on Miller, and are not motivated to play and win the alerts.
Also, we can easily notice that the Tr population increases a lot while the other factions become less populated during alerts.
Players usually switch to Tr in order to gain the xp, this is now a common situation on Miller.

Personally, I have some pride and I do my best to make it challenging for the Tr to win, even if we are outnumbered and if the game is lost in advance.
I am sure that the true TR soldiers would like to win less easily.

I meant no dis-respect and I'm sorry if I've given offence. Alliances are hard. They always have been, especially in their infancy. Many of the TRAM outfits worked very closely for a long period of time in PS1..... far longer than PS2 has even existed. This is a luxury the NCTO do not have. Therefore I have a lot of respect for the NCTO, but its not for us.

As to why I never elected to "step in"? Organising ones own outfit effectively is hard enough and I'd prefer to concentrate on that. Speed is so crucial that managing anyone outside of your immediate influence gets frustrating for me.

Finally, Mastachief was present and representing MCY at several NCTO meetings where he raised our issues and concerns, and our suggestions for improvement and we provided feedback on the events we participated in.

That's arguably the crux of why they won't swap though.
  7. LordMondando

Were you not at the last meeting?
  8. Dinapuff

More like. Were you not on our last OP? ;O NCTO rocked TR **** entire evening.

This. i was part of a platoon on esamir when the alert went out. we had 55% of esamir and thought we might win. then when the alert goes out the TR population jumps to 50% and they steamroll everything as usual is is near impossible for anyone ever than TR to win alerts i have never ever seen anyone but TR win an alert and they mostly get dominating victory. there really needs to be some kind of op balancing system like you can only have a certain advantage in pop per continent and it does a cue similar to the current system of when the continent is full
  10. LordMondando

Yeah the moral of the story is, have a single person on the TS3 every time prime.

I really don't understand this intransigence about play styles as well. We are not miles away from MCY in being rapid reaction, we are kept busy most OPs even the ad hoc ones.

Man I'm reading some of the dumbest things. Please let this thread continue, it's a great source of entertainment.

    Wow,

Most Amazing arrogance from an Internet tough guy.

This is what I was getting at with the EVE blob warfare comment. Since we don't have the lattice on Amerish piling tons of people into one base has a huge opportunity cost. The problem with Facilities Alerts and Lattice Continents is that the small number of relevant bases means you hardly lose anything by piling people into one base.

Ok I only know MCY from a few brief fights with your Scat MAXs, but TVA has outfits that seem to have a similar play style. Our alliance is pretty informal, and anyone who wants to participate can do so in whatever way they want. We DGAF how much you want to participate in TVA stuff, if you just want to hop on our TS occasionally that's good enough for us. For example, DWG have a policy against joining alliances but their Platoon/Squad Leaders still coordinate with us on voice comms. I feel like MCY could have a similar arrangement with NCTO and it'd work well for everyone.
  15. Loui5D

    Nerf pella pls.
  16. Arquin

Man you guys are taking all this tactics, alliances and **** too seriously.

Why can't you just be content with farming noobs like every other top player?
    • Up x 3
  17. LordMondando

DL manage it, your at least as good as us. Its a shame your taking this stance (which is silly) becuase your one of the few small outfits that can be relied upon to take objectives with any sort of reliability.

    At the NCTO's last meeting?

Because I think your concerns have all been addressed, hope to see you or him on the NCTO TS3 some time this week, I would have been on tonight, but un-****-ulating the NC took up too much time, August has yet another round of mass invite to outfit zerg fits who can barely do anything. I'd go into more detail, but the baddies are in this thread as well as the goodies.

There's no way on earth you can properly balance pella, some things are just meant to be OP.

    Shoo arquin.
  18. Arquin

Ok I was planning to head to bed anyway

Just left an extremely improvised and lazy bait in case I can get some lulzworthy reading on my first recess tomorrow morning.
  19. LordMondando

It was better for a while, its creeping back to the problems of the TR have 4-6% more 5/7 nights of the week.

Well maybe, i'm hoping the resource revamp makes warfare more than just capturing territory, and so, less emphasis on meat grinders where population matters too much and hopefully it also dillutes the impact of allways having more people as wlel.

Eh? Opporunity cost, I know what the term means, I fail to see how it equates to any meaningful Achilles heel for a larger force. So there's places they could otherwise be? So how does that equate to something I can hit and have it act as a force multiplier for my own smaller force?

If anything there's no much of an opportunity cost, as the TR can easier maintain 2/3 platoon+ sized engagements per continent.

We have maintained contact with the NCTO and are happy to assist in day to day activities. All anyone needs to do is ask. We already work with a few other outfits at times (ABTF, DL, RL, SC and more). What we didn't like was the focus on large, empire-wide events where our freedom to react and move quickly to emerging problems was restricted by the alliance command structure and the oftentimes rigid nature of the plan.

If more efforts are made to co-ordinate daily then you are likely to see us involved more often.
