Miller didn't crash tonight, here's why.

It never hit critical mass. It was lagging fairly heavily earlier tonight, but it seems it was never loaded up to the point where it crashes.

I logged off after it started pinging pretty badly, mainly because I was expecting it to crash.

It hasn't been fixed, I have no doubt that next time there are 2000+ players on the server, it'll crash.

SOE - can we have some acknowledgement, please? I know there are more important things to do, like organising Friday Night Ops etc. but it would be nice if you could spare us a moment to acknowledge this issue and let us know what's happening.

Not sure it's actually SOE responsible for this, it only seems to happen on Euro servers so it's probably P7G.

No pro7 are not responsible for the servers. SOE control the hardware.

Our TS was quiet. Between the server crap and the fps hitching/frame Freeze/black screen. People have had enough of the ****.

The best fix for overworked servers is reducing the server load....
The longer it takes for them to fix it, the more i think it is something minor with the hardware, like the cooling being not strong enough or the processors not getting enough power...

Wish they would scrap that friday night ops once and for all, most useless thing I have ever seen which no one even remotely cares about.

Last one had 2000+ non planetside players watching it... hardly useless is it.

Actually it is, streams of popular games go around 30-1x0.000
  8. bPostal

And the average number of people watching PS2 streams is something like 100, with the exception of some of the more popular personalities.
Relatively speaking, 2k people is quite a lot.

The constant crashes are going to have a very bad effect on the amount of players that continue to play the game if it's not resolved quickly, while each crash is short and your able to get back in again fairly quickly you can see on the graph that on the 2nd day of crashes shown (where it only crashed once) somewhere in the area of 400 people simply never bothered to log back in, that crash was only around 8:30pm so it's not like it was too late to play but that instead around 400 people said "**** it" and didn't bother, when the population was only around 2000 that's 1/5 of the entire server that just gave up trying.

You ARE going to fix this SOE or your not going to have any players left on the server because if too many stop playing due to crashes then the pop gets to a point where others don't see the point either and you rapidly lose players faster and faster.

its not just euro servers, i have been having problems with connory too, lots of disconnects and really bad lag

Perhaps, but Miller seems to be the only server consistently crashing on peak load every day, Cobalt has been crashing as well.

I dunno if that's the same thing, but Miller is definately crashing, everyone is kicked, the server is down for X period of time and the select screen, then locked for Y period, then back up....... then seems to crash again if it hits a certain load.

Responsible or not, they need to make sure it is sorted out.

Ceres (EU too) does not crash nor lag, but some people (at least in my outfit) get randomly disconnected for no reason.
  14. LordMondando

This concurs with my observation. It's also appears to be effecting the eu servers equally it's just they reach 2000+ far less.

Over 50% of the player base is affected by this. Simply restarting it is not a solution and this is doing serious damage to the faith of the community in this product.

Over a week now. The hosting solution is no longer fit for purpose.

Frankly there is no point releasing AmerisourceBergen with half the servers in this state.

No, Pro7 runs all European operations including the server-hardware in Holland. That's why SOE does it in the first place, it reduces maintenance costs and staff costs on two continents.
  17. Mastachief

You are wrong. I have it on good authority from both SOE an pro7 employees. Pro7 are purely financial/marketing/community and some customer service

Its irrelevant really, its not a SOE or PSS7 datacenter. Whoever holds the contact and/or whom nerdrage should be directed at is irrelevant.

It's like 99.999% a hardware issue, the data centre actually needs to handle it either by migrating the EU servers to another physical machine(s) or identifying whatever is causing a failure when it reaches ~2000+ people, currently the plan appears to be just restart the damn thing every time it goes down. Which is not even a good workaround given the nature of PS2.

It is very relevant, as the company in charge has to make the datacentre do it, I very much doubt miller is running on an off the shelf hardware config. This should be a priority issue and should have been sorted 2weeks ago. Someone at SOE is dropping the ball.

Who wouldn't want server crashes on primetime? They're awesome
