@mhigby: Connery players: what do you think of the spawn setting experiment we have on right now?

    Is that what they did? The spawn system is completely random and I was wondering why I was able to spawn at sunderers at far away bases.

    I think it's a better change. More focus needs be placed on AMS and galaxy squad spawn and less focus on spawning at the base itself.

    If I had my way I would remove all spawning at contested bases but you can spawn at any base directly behind the front line. I would then buff AMS and Gal spawn even more. Rely on setting up and defending your faction's spawn points at the battle. Otherwise spawn at the next base over and drive.

    I am a lone wolf and I support this change.
    Having to join random squads till I find one that is in range of a battle I want to be at is a waste of my time.
    It is also a waste of the slot in the platoon for someone that would actual like to listen and fallow that platoons orders, which I don't.

    By being able to point and click takes away from the tactical part of the game. I want to set up ambushes on the roadways, but there are few vehicles traveling out because they are just pointing and clicking around the map.

    SOE should hold an event, where for one day you are only allowed to spawn from the WG or deployed AMS sunderer.

    if you are infantry player but you are forced to travel it is boring.

    64km maps, combined arms, Massively Multiplayer, Logistics.

    If this goes live they may as well chop up the maps, 1 for each base and just let you pick from a map browser screen.

    There are thousands of copycat fps shooters where you can go be Rambo on your own from map to map, not caring how you get from base to base.

    There are less than a handful of combined arms games that require some teamwork, logistics and thought to be successful.

    How often do you see a sunderer being used to transport an entire squad, or even being escorted by other vehicles.
    How often do you see squads keeping vehicles or troops back in order to defend an AMS.?
    We need more combined arms, not less.

    When choosing which base to attack/defend and which route to take to get there your supposed to factor in the fact you may have to fight through some enemy on the terrain outside or above the base walls, or even in the sky. Not just be able to ignore it all.

    It shows me no one pulls and deploys sunderers. Beyond that at least sometimes I can get to the right base on the frontline where I want to fight instead of having to re-deploy or pull air.

    Damn it SOE, we want more logistics not less, this is a MMOFPS, not a lobby shooter.

    This is the most logical and convenient system;
    You can spawn everywhere, just the spawn time increases the further you spawn away from your current position.

    As it is now you can spawn at any base anyways, so that system is the logical conclusion and simply removes the inconvenience of clicking and loading screens. Personally i would prefer some longer spawn times reflecting the gained time though.

    I think we need to be able to spawn EVERYWHERE. But not all sunderers on the map, only those in proximity and your own.

    I LOVE that Higby and SOE are trying some really neat ideas out as a test on a Live Server.

    I LOVE that Higby is asking for direct feedback on it.

    I do LOVE the change. BUT, I really need for players to be able to spawn at any Defending base as well. Otherwise Attackers can channel immediately to support any battle, but Defenders are still stuck in the lock out redeploy-hop system to support the same battles.

    Also, might I suggest giving a REGIONAL XP bonus based on the pop in a battle (say tally up the occupied zone + lattice support zone). That way players are incentivized into battles their faction is underpop, not just playing on underpop Continents and then still zerg ghost capping.

    You should be able to spawn at any faction owned base or sunderer.

    I think all faction edge spawns should be available - everything on border with other factions.

    Crap change, unless they scale the respawn timer with distance. Spawning halfway across the map should have at least a 60 second timer.

    Tell that to the NC MAX.....
    Vehicle dominance is only because the base designs are crap, they have nothing to do with the infantry spawns.
    Oh, and on alerts i don't really want to watch the loading screen for hours because we have to jump place-place to play counter- infantry zerg all the time.

    I see a problem with infiltrators hacking low pop base terminal, spawning sunderer and the next moment a full zerg deploys there.

    One more reason to blow up your own vehicle terminal immediately? With no vehicle terminal the base is secure, with a hackable terminal, no base is secure.

    I would limit this to larger fights: you can spawn at any sunderer provided your own population exceeds 12.
