The Mercenaries outfit was created in Planetside 1, on May 20, 2003. In its infancy, it was a group designed to take on the dirty jobs that no one else wanted to attempt. Now, in its 16th year, Mercs has become a well-rounded multi-gaming clan, but more importantly, a tight-knit group of friends looking for like-minded people to game with. AIRBORNE INFANTRY Given the current state of the Planetside 2 Metagame, we have found that our most effective (and fun) tactic for delivering squads and platoons into combat is the galaxy drop. If you like spearheading attacks for your faction, dropping behind enemy lines, or those clutch last-second resecures, you’ll love this aspect of Mercs. AIR DOMINANCE Are you an aspiring pilot? We heavily utilize Galaxies, Liberators, Valkyries, and Mosquitos during our regular ops. ARMORED ASSAULT Do you like participating in massive armor battles all over Auraxis? We do that too. Whether it’s a combined arms battle to clear the field, or using vehicles to hold infantry lanes, we’re always looking for more competent drivers. SUPPORT Frontline Medics, Combat Engineers, Support Sunderers, or Spawn Sunderers, we’re looking to expand our support corps. We play all aspects of Planetside 2. In a three-hour period, we may have air wings, armor columns, epic close-quarter fights, and galaxy drops into strategically important bases… all of that in the same op. You bring the teamplay attitude and the interest in improving your gameplay, and we’ll provide the training. MULTI-GAMING CLAN Our main games are currently Planetside 2, Warframe, Arma 3, and Star Citizen Alpha. There are also Mercs playing tons of other titles, so you can usually find someone in the outfit with similar interests. EXPECTATIONS Our first, and most important expectation is that you are a friendly player that doesn’t cause drama. Run with us for a couple of our operations so we can both figure out if we’re the right fit for each other Secondly, if you’re a Merc, and you’re playing Planetside 2 during our ops, you’re playing with us, on teamspeak. We’re ok with members having other outfits on different factions/servers, but during ops, we take priority. Third, we have an age requirement of 18 years old. Fourth, we have a Battle Rank 25 requirement. This is to make sure you’re actually interested in playing Planetside 2. Fifth, follow orders.
