Medic tool vs Engineer tool final cert upgrade worthiness, and suggestion to improve

lore blah blah, the guns are magic, the medic gun can heal a full cranial evacuation, then the final upgrade of a repair tool can reach beyond the twisted nether and bring you back alive as a necron

But you don't want to be a necron. You want to be revived.

says you, but to be honest, I really like the rez the max idea, or at least a prep the max for rez idea. Imagine a medic is rezzing, the engi runs up and starts repairing the armor while waiting for it to stand back up. As a medic I hate rezzing a max at low life for fear that they will just go down again. I much prefer it when some engi's are available to assist me. THis would allow some preemptive assisting. but to be honest, I actually like the gun as is. Medic gun can't heal anything but infantry, engi can repair the whole darn base, all aircraft, all tanks, and MAX

I would say let the final one allow for a repair burst. What I mean by this is that you can right click instead of left click, and your gun would instantly overheat, but would repair for the full value remaining until it would overheat. An example would be a fully cooled-down repair gun gets an instant 0-100% duration repair instantly and then needs to wait for the gun to cool off again. If currently repairing and overheat is at halfway, right clicking would instantly repair for the other half of the overheat duration instantly. This of course would be on a cooldown, but it would be quite useful.

No, what the last repair tool upgrade needs is to be able to inject vehicles with ammo on overheat. *wink*

Odd, I thought repair XP was per time spent, not per amount repaired. I'd LOVE if it were per amount repaired, but i haven't noticed more XP as I've leveled up my tool.
  7. Lokarin

    Do this.

Find a completely dead Turret and count how many repair ticks you do. I counted 30 repair ticks at default, which is 150 XP.

And by repair tick I mean 5XP proc

Engineer tool upgrades drastically increase range.

While the MAX revive sounds neat, it would seem kind of odd to bring the pilot back to life with the repair gun.

Of all the remaining ideas, the repair dart sounds like an excellent idea. They already have something similar in the Infiltrators recon dart, so we know it's possible to do in game. Perhaps have a limit to it, you can shoot it at range at a tank to repair it, but it only repairs at the rate a level 3 repair gun would or something and it'd only last for one overheat cycle. So you can either have the faster repair up close, or a lesser degree of repair from a distance. And as far as balance goes, this could be something that costs mechanical resources to restock darts maybe, not more than what a grenade costs though.

I would love just a small range buff. heck +1 meter on each of the last 2 would be great

Some kind of damage protection while repairing would be nice, perhaps 30% at the highest level.

^This. The repair tool is fairly balanced as is. Just make it cost less.
  13. Exmortius

range buff for engy tool wouldn't be too bad. gives a little more possibility to avoid gunfire but doesn't add too much to speed.

I would love being able to revive MAXes with the highest cert. Lore-wise, you can say that it makes the suit release an electrical jolt of some sort that jump-starts the user's heart.

I get what everyone is saying about not being able to revive a dead MAX with a Repair Gun because .. the pilot is DEAD. I get that. But let's look at the MAX for a minute:

    1. They require an Engineer to repair them as they cannot be healed.
    2. They do not have 2 armor bars (as would be consistent with repairing something to keep it alive) but two HEALTH bars, which means they are not mechanical / vehicle but organic and need healing.
    3. See Point #1
Basically.. it is ALL a crap arguement. They have two health bars but can't be healed, they have to be repaired. If there is an ORGANIC pilot in there somewhere, why wouldn't it just be one health bar and one "armor bar" that is beefier that the normal shield but requires repairing? This would bring them in line with the logic being used behind them. But.. it's not logical. It is all made up nonsense anyway.
So just let us revive MAX suits with our final cert upgrade already and be done with it!
P.S. - You know Medics have a "Healing Grenade" that does AoE healing right? You know what that uses? NANITES!
