Problem with reviving a MAX is that they have around 2/5 of their health, and THEN there needs to be an engineer nearby and aware of the MAX being revived- which isn't common, sometimes I have to hit v 3 after reviving one. If the engineer isn't there to heal up the MAX, the MAX will go down quickly. For me a MAX isn't really a priority, reviving another medic is my first priority. And yeah gotta love being rezzed by uncerted medics, happened a couple times last night, 1/3 health out in the open...
I'm unsure.. though, I guess it probably has to do with the KDR statistic. As a prior small squad medic, I was able to fill roles and a true medic and manage to get some kills simultaneously. Tracking the progress of your KDR is a fun thing to do. During the past month, I've been joining up in the larger battles where all of my time is spent reviving others due to the constant spam/camping/barricading/whatever-you-want-to-call-this-******-tactic. The credits are good and I'm helping the team capture and hold bases.. but I'm constantly dying and I've now racked up more deaths than kills. I don't mind so much as I've been playing the role of healer in just about every MMO I've played since 1999, but I can definitely see it annoying people in game. I think a 'number of revives' or 'total health restored' statistic would deter some of this selfish game play. I still prefer the single squad life.. reviving people over and over because they know they're going to be revived and just run into the line of fire to push their way forward isn't very rewarding. Maybe somehow forcing a more tactical approach to combat would also help? I could imagine that being a loooong and painful process, though.
Because it's called COMBAT Medic; they want to do some Combat too & they happen to have a fantastic weapon. Best advice is, if you want someone to be on your rear at all times then play with your outfit. If you're the type to go the long way around everything and yet expect to get healed, then grab the MedKit/ResKit.
Feels like medics ignore to heal you if you are low on health...they just wait until you die - so they can revive you - and get more exp doing so.
1: awesome gun 2: healydealy works to keep me alive between engagements while still letting me use C4. 3: I am not your *****. Let me say it again. I am not your b i t c h. 4: My job is to help win the fight, not change diapers. 5: In large battles, heavies are like the red shirts in Star Trek. You're really not that important. Disclaimer: I do rez and heal, but only when it's necessary or convenient or if I wipe out a friendly dood in my harasser. (Soz mang, I maek you bettar!)
Too many times as a medic I am following you trying to heal you as you run around.....it goes both ways ;-)
Agreed, but remember there are a lot of people still learning the game. In a perfect world we would all know how to play right from the start. Not know how to do it is, imo, the biggest culprit. Once they get up to speed they become proficient at it. The part that I don't understand is why people only play medics behind the line. The best medics I see are the ones on (or beyond) the front line.
Self heal, C4, Assault rifles, and they're no squisher than a heavy without it's shield up. People can and do play it like some sort of medium assault class. Assault rifles are arguably the most powerful guns in the game.
I started playing medic much more often after I unlocked Sabr and TAR and decked them out with attachements... they are so GOOD I decided to invest into the medic a lot more than I planned. ^^ Other than the guns, reviving people is very profitable so I do it all the time. THEMZ CERTS AINT GONNA EARN THEMSELVES
Greedy farmer medics are almost as annoying as those ignorant ones - they run around steal other people's revives (OK, I've done that too, we all have, but I have a limit I don't cross), they approach a pile of dead bodies and they are rezzing everybody before medics, some go as far as leaving medics dead for good (I've been a "victim" of those many times). They're selfish, they don't care for the good of their faction, they just care about that exp&certs.
I can relate to that. This is, in fact, why I make it a point to go for the medics first when choosing my revive targets. This and, for the long run, having two or more guys picking up downed friendlies is gonna help the team more. Medics already make a ton of certs as it is, no need to be greedy. Oh and a little piece of advice for those calling out for a medic. If you're down to 10% health and asking for a heal, don't charge off towards enemy fire the second we start healing you. It takes a few seconds to top you off, we can't sprint while healing with the applicator, and we sure as hell are not gonna run after you right down a dragon's throat! You want a heal, fine. You run off without letting us finish, you're on your own. Rest in peaces.
Medic has gun for a reason. When I'm running combat medic (which is quite a lot these days), I will absolutely pick up fallen comrades nearby or top off people's health, but only if I can either do so under cover or when the enemy are otherwise distracted elsewhere. If I can't do this, I'm going to be shooting people with my gun. I'm surprised by how many medics don't press 'F' in a firefight. So far I've yet to get any abuse for 'bad heals' - but I have killed a couple of people who thought the best way to get my attention to heal them was to stand in front of me while my assault rifle is pointing at the enemy and my finger is on the trigger... That one always baffles me. Why do people think it's a good idea to stand in front of (facing towards) a medic who is currently discharging their firearm?!
If you ask for a Medic and the run, fly, get in a vehicle or whatever, dont spect me to heal you when you ask again... Im a dedicated Medic, but sometimes people also likes to screw up, so dont blame completely on Medics Ignorance
I always prioritize MAXes. They always wait longer yhan othrr players. If nearby I might change to medic in the terminal just to revive a fellow MAX.
Does anyone get annoyed being revived by a lvl. 1 applicator in a massive battle? it takes forever and you probably will bet shot down once back up.
[ I dont steal any revives. I revive any player if its safe regardless if there are 10 other medics around also reviving. Thats not stealing, thats common sense on the battlefield to get as many soldiers on their feet as fast as possible. And if you are a serious combat medic you dont get irritated about it, you should rather thank me and keep doing your job
Exactly, it has saved my life many times. As soon as a firefight start I press "F" and with a good aim i most of the times come out alive and back in full health very soon. And if there are any brothers in arms around maybe I even manage to keep them alive during the firefight as well.
