MBT Secondaries nerfed

    the Magrider and Vanguard were both nerfed in the upcoming patch that went live on the test server
    The Saron now takes 3 shots to kill infantry.
    That is 1 more shot.
    Why is this nesisary at all??? The Magrider is forced to use FPC if it wants to have a CHANCE at anti tank gameplay and the saron is forced to help deal with infantry and armor. It is not like the Saron is massacring infantry This nerf is reticulated.

    The Devs seem to think MBT are too powerful judging from the vanguard nerf, magrider nerf and harasser buff.
    MBT need a BIG buff after this BS. Baybe make the AP cannons have splash equal to HEAT and HEAT equal to HE and HE gets 1 plus meter of lethatlity since the secondaries of the tanks get nerfed. MBTs are NOT OP and yert they get nerfed.

    Or at least buff some of the ES abilities

    This is just awful.

    Now you can feel our pain (Vulcan). They "buffed" the Vulcan, but it's still the same pretty much. As for the Saron - that nerf was not needed at all.

    You test this in VR? If so, splash damage isn't calculated and it still takes two to kill infantry. It takes three to kill VR dummies with the Saron on live.

    It is 3 shots and 4 shots if you're at VR Training because splash doesn't work there as stated above.

    probably because you almost never pulled a PPA mag.

    granted that was because supernova + saron was pretty necessary if you ran into anything stronger than a harasser.

    FPC meant the main gunner/ driver was useless v infantry, and the FPC+ saron combo was necessary for countering other MBT and sunderers in any reasonable amount of time.
    it was rather embarassing that a sundy could just hop on it's dual basi's and chase off a SPC +saron tank before it was destroyed.

    but i think the saron becoming an makeshift AI weapon was more a symptom of the PPA being useless v armor, and the magrider main guns being largely useless outside their respective roles (and the SPC just being poor all around)

    We never really denied that the vulcan change was, well, wrong.

    Anyway, all this makes me think is that they're set in their way of making the MBT have no clear defined role, besides guilty pleasure.

    I won't lie, I'm not surprised the magburn for the high end wasn't changed in the slightest.
    Still the weakest boost, still the ES utility with the least reliable impact.

    And on top of that they nerfed the HRB. As if the Halberd and Saron weren't equals already (they are, soon 'were')...

    Not to mention the Enforcer ML and shield are both set to get a nerf or two each.

    Why is SOE nerfing MBTs???

    Are they more powerful than libs:eek:
    It just doesn't make any sense and I feel that SOE's new patches are just going to completely demolish the game's vehicular gameplay.
    Lets not forget this is planetside
    Not infantryside
    Not airside

    There needs to be a place for ALL, stop nerfing MBTs :confused:

    So, 284 direct damage + 200 splash = 484 damage to infantry

    1000 / 484 = 2.07 (yes 3HK direct hits)

    AFAIK, Flak Armour affects Saron HRB direct hits so:

    Rank 1 1000 / (484 x 0.9) = 2.30 (3HK)
    Rank 2 1000 / (484 x 0.8) = 2.58 (3HK)
    Rank 3 1000 / (484 x 0.7) = 2.95 (3HK)
    Rank 4 1000 / (484 x 0.6) = 3.44 (4HK)
    Rank 5 1000 / (484 x 0.5) = 4.13 (5HK)

    5/6 shots need to hit to kill a flak 5 soldier? Looks like I'll be back to the Halberd full time if this goes through.

    I think this is only the Secondary balance portion that was mentioned. So, I'm still waiting for the other foot to drop in regards to empire abilities.

    Yup... time to dust off my old Halberd and get my gunners practice with it. It already was hard convincing them to use the Saron... now it'll be worse. At least they are getting shared xp for the kills I get... :) Still the hardest part for me is getting good runs due to the overabundance of Libs.

    And main gun changes (see TR HEAT/HE nerfs) which leaves me even more depressed about the lack of balance to come.

    Yeah.

    I mean, prior to this the HRB and Halberds are a fair choice for Mags, with the occasionally higher CQC burst and easier time with infantry being the perk of one, and the maintained long range damage and infantry 1-hks for the Halberd.

    .... Why change what isn't broken?! Is it because the saron is used more? Well damn, might have something to do with how it looks, sounds and feels more awesome than the NS halberd...

    Damn it SOE. Are you trying to make people angry here?!

    And let's not forget how the Magburn, in spite of the fun you can have with it, is still the by -FAR- weakest ES utility. It's almost insulting by this point, that they're not changing it for the 4/4 rank players.

    AP has no Explosives In it, so it can't have a blast radius, it is strictly designed for Anti Vehicle capabilities.
    However, you could just get good at firing the gun, and racking up those Infantry kills wont become a problem.

    I don't think the Saron needed AI nerfs and I don't think the Enforcer needed AV nerfs. The Halberd is, by far, the jack of all trades. The Vulcan does need buffed. I thought the secondary balance was pretty good besides the Vulcan...

    At least they buffed the Canister and Marauder instead of nerfing the PPA.

    At this point I'm pretty much just going to start filling out my Liberator. They've been nerfing MBTs against infantry constantly even though they were intended to deal with them if specced accordingly. I mean, what's the point of even having anti-infantry weapons like the HE barrels and Kobalt if they get nerfed for performing their role? And now they're nerfing weapons that weren't even supposed to be doing AI work because the other stuff isn't worth using. Tell me again how many people use the Prowler Marauder or C86?

    I've already stated before on how tank influence stops at the base wall while air can reach further in, and if they're just going to make sure that tanks can't affect a base assault/defense outside of picking off sunderers, I really don't see them being all that useful except when one side doesn't have air control or spawning is on cooldown.

    I heard balance and hope for some buffs.....nope...NERF THEM ALLL!!!!!!
    -w- why do they never learn....Okay Enforcer needed a nerf to be honest. Most Vanguard players just switched to the secondary instead of using the main. Thats how good it is. AND LOL 8 rounds instead of 10 So just enough to kill someone with a mag but not enough to allow a miss XD

    I didn't see anyone saying the Enforcer needs nerfed until the patch notes on PTS today. The Halberd vs Enforcer is a tough decision already. The Enforcer and Saron have their respective strengths and depending on the situation one is better than another. The Vulcan needs buffed, we can all agree on.
