so at this point would anyone recommend fire sup for libs? or still after burner?
  2. deggy

    People use afterburner? :p

I've always had Fire Suppression on my heavy air vehicles, landing a flaming Galaxy isn't worth the hassle.

The only vehicle that handles well in this game and is enjoyable to drive is the harrasser.

This isn't a mass increase on vehicles, it's a change to gravity.

There has been reported changes to everything that gravity touches: vehicle handling, bullet drop, etc, etc.

The change is slight, but it's there. And with the usual counters to gravity not being changed (e.g. thrust), it means the heavier the object the more noticeable the change.

Reaver with is very good thrust out of the box is an incredibly small change.
Liberator is noticeable, and moreso if you aren't flying High-G
Galaxy is practically a whole new aircraft

But it's a universal change - and is more likely a side effect of the physics optimisations rather than someone goofing when updating the drop pods. At least, I really hope it is... because if the decision to fix drop pods was done by changing all of gravity then someone on the design team needs a slap.

Interesting I didn't know about the bullet drop, that would make it just a gravity change instead as you said. I really hope it was an accident that it came through on live. If they implemented this without for seeing all the changes that would come of it I don't have much hoe for their future on balances lol.

I didnt notice this earlier because i wasnt ground pummeling in my reaver. I noticed it today and it was reallly obvious

My reaver fell like a scythe (pre change) which can only make me imagine how the scythe feels. I did NOT notice this whilst flying normally, only when i pitched down it became clear

It could be my imagination tho

    Or in the NC

Something else i noticed. My landing gear doesnt deploy and my plane keeps on bouncing on the spot

I believe that the gravity/mass is still correct in the VR training room. I was testing airframes there before I bought them for "realz" and when I actually used them I was baffled to find my maxed dogfighting frame was MUCH more sluggish on the battlefield than it was in the training room.

    Try it out and see.

I might be the only player who likes the change. The aircraft feel more fluid and glidy and my Flash doesn't flip over pebbles anymore or spin out on a 30 degree curve due to the increased momentum. More testing is needed, but I might actually use my Flash again, haven't used it in a very very long time. If you ask me, this was a buff to handling if anything, now stuff works more like you'd expect it to.

Love the change here, my tank no longer behaves like a shopping trolley.

I'm not sure if these changes have benefited the flash or not - I swore off using the things as they were nearly undriveable unless you're going in a straight line or a very slight arcing curve. Their momentum was completely unrealistic and infuriating, trying to pull a slight turn would send you spinning out of control like mad.....

But the issue that affected the flash seemed to be a planet wide problem with the design of the ground surface itself, as it affected all vehicles equally - that being SOE THINKS THAT EVERY GROUND SURFACE BEHAVES LIKE ICE! It didn't matter what vehicle you were in, you would just slide all over the dam place. Rock, grass, gravel, clay...wheels, treads, doesn't matter. Apparently Auraxis is covered in an invisible layer of grease.

Real vehicles don't behave like this, take it from an equipment operator and truck driver who has driven in every environment Canada has to offer. Vehicle physics need to be fixed, badly. Whatever meat head designed the programming for traction needs to leave his cubicle, get out in the real world and see how traction actually behaves.

PS2 vehicle physics are one of the single most infuriating things in all of gaming, as someone who drives for a living nothing gives me more nerd rage than sliding down a hill while pressing reverse, yet somehow the vehicle stops if u stop spinning your wheels...lol, ya right. Want to rage? Try turning a sundy on a slope....

they also should fix this 'sliding issue'. Everything tends to slide downhill...or even uphill in some cases

It's like the calculation of speed never reaches 0 caused by dividing float numbers or whatever.

This needs something like "if velocity < X set velocity = 0"

Yeah flying my Scythe has gotten worse with the new patch. It literally starts going to hell at around 15% vehicle health.

Has anyone else come across increased bullet drop? I have asked my outfit and none of them have noticed that to have changed.
