Actually the correct opinion I have about C4 is that it should do directional damage. I don't feel that C4 landing on the ground infront of my tank, exploding, and then nicking my front armor should send me into the air in a flaming ball of metal and nanites. I think it should still be able to solo a MBT, but only if the C4 explodes behind the MBT where it is weak. I'm not a fan of infantry thinking it's okay to abandon all cover to face rush tanks with C4 instead of properly flanking it if they want to kill it by themselves. Most AV weapons in the game do directional damage to a MBT, and it is my opinion that C4 shouldn't be an exception to that rule.:)

like I said, If it can hurt you want it nerfed.

You just want you tank to be god mode, you only care about tank driving and everything else should just die to it
  3. Revel

Thats a really good point. For C4 most of the time it would be top armor, which does nothing to protect against it.

    Actually what you said was

Which is a bald faced lie and you have no proof of me saying such a thing or expressing such an opinion. You might want to work on your ability to use a Strawman to debate against me, as it's currently not working out too well for you. ;)
  5. LT_Latency

    You have already said it.

All you statements include I am in a tank so I should just kick their ***.

The fact that you QQ about c4 is laughable and shows insane bias.

    Fire.

    Get off.

    MOVE.

If they haven't noticed it yet, use it again. If they have, place a new one somewhere else and aim it with drop so you can get off earlier.

They're free, on a free spawn, and more effective per use than any HA launcher.

Downside? You have to place it before you can use it and it's stuck there.

Now, fix the effective range to render range and I DO have 1 fix request to keep it viable. Fix areas it can be placed. Way to hard to place these darned things sometimes. Tripods have adjustable feet. It should be placeable on slightly steeper inclines which would help a lot out in the fields where I get killed just trying to find a darn spot it will turn green >.<

Because you can be firing over and over again with a better weapon. You are also spending alot of time looking for a spot to actual be able to set it up. It can't go up every where. When it does go up a tank can shoot it easily and you are sniper bait.

You are just better off taking another gun most of the time once the enemy get inside lock on range

If they need to nerf the range to 300 that is fine but they are going to be collecting dust if they don't give them a little love,
  8. Ronin Oni

Did you read my whole post? I specifically said that that is exactly what needs to be fixed alongside a max range...

or at least significantly dropped damage at longer range, bugger the sense it makes. If you have enough in mass and are just trying to suppress a lane with more safety, I could see that being valid.
  9. LT_Latency

I still don't see why you wouldn't be better off with a lock on gun. The odds of dieing or having your damage being prevented is just lower with a lockon.

I think people will rage even more if they can be setup on every single cannon wall. Alot of the good spots are block because they are slopped at the edges.

    This IS a troll thread.
  11. LT_Latency

We are talking about at close range. Not at long range where the AV turret is good

It's much easier to sniper a target that doesn't move with your main cannon. That is the AV turrests problem at close range
  12. Revel

I honestly can't tell if this is trolling anymore.

You're right, it is difficult to lead correctly, but certainly not impossible...

The battles start at long range, Everyone uses the AV turret for the long range advantage. Then everyone slow switches to lockon and dumb fires as the battle moves in.

This happens for a reason people actively switch out to different AV weapons because you won't survive long on a AV turret while maintain a sutatined fire like you can with lockon and dumb fire because of the high mobility while shooting.

Tanks and snipers can make perfect shots on the stationary AV turret.
  15. Ronin Oni

    You're right

That's why HA is supposed to be the preferred AV class.

You can still use it, indefinitely mind you, in ways such as demonstrated with flanking. It lets the guy carrying the ammo for the HA's participate in the combat. It's perfectly fine within 300m. The only exception being a pain to place it sometimes depending on terrain (and the terrain you need it around most often needs the leniency the most.)
  16. Revel

Except the AV turret guys don't. They sit way back and continue to plug away with a 0 resource, infinite ammo deployable. Lock ons give a warning and its easy to break LOS, hit IR, afterburners, flares or whatever. There is no warning for an AV turret until the first shot hits, and its constantly plugging away while the defender tries to break LOS and then find it, if he can even see it, and chances are he can't.
  17. LT_Latency

If the Eng is not suppose to be a AV class that is ok, I guess. I just wish people would come out and say instead of pretending it's a good weapon at close range.

but people are going to be piss if you can set that AV turret up on every cannon wall. Right now most of the good spots are blocked by the slopped edges I think they will complain about that as well.
  18. Booface

The AV turret is not a close or even mid range weapon. It's a long range weapon. If you're using it at a range where a tank can effectively return fire, you're not using it at the right range. Several engineers on a hill side at render distance, focus firing, can decimate an armor column in less than a minute.

I actually would love it if there was a more damaging turret that was shorter ranged, but if the current long range AV turret were made more powerful in any way it'd be more OP than it already is.

Basic advice: use the AV turret only at long range from high ground. Use it in groups. Prioritize targets that are already being damaged, using your long range and unexpected direction to hit them when they have retreated on low health and think they're safe.

Another trick: some tank gunners are insanely accurate even out to the ranges you'll be firing from. If you're in a group this will spread the risk around a bit, but you might still want to hop off the turret between each shot. The cooldown will still regenerate, and if your turret takes a tank shell in between your shots then you can just plant down a new one. Out at that range, you should even have enough time to jump off the turret if you see a tank shell headed in your general direction.

Ok ok we all know the Mana AV is stupid. But has anyone outside of a tank thought about what would happen were they ever to be brought into the realm of fairplay?

Images of Mana AV holding back and destroying hoards of Prowlers etc etc. That little turret ( I don't have one personally) is all that sometimes separates me from being farmed.

I hate the turret just as much as the rest hell it even one shots infantry. But I think the rendering should be left alone till we have the resource revamp in place.

If this game turns back into the tank spam of Jan-March 2013 I will rather quit then deal with it till it is nerfed.
  20. Revel

There's a simply solution to this actually. Make the main gun firable by the gunner, and give the secondary to the driver or even require a 3 man crew with just a dedicated driver, just like Planetside 1 where vehicles weren't nearly the same problem.
