Make quick-bail a cert

You guys are all missing the point. I'm talking mainly about ground vehicle bailing here with HA rocket launchers in your back pocket. It gives people an extremely good chance of a last gasp Hail Mary victory when in actual fact they have lost the primary engagement.

It is WAY too easy to lose the vehicle contest but bail before you die, get lost briefly in the smoke of your wreckage and then destroy the nearly dead opponent that killed your vehicle.

I don't mind passengers bailing so much, but when drivers can also do it, it is getting a bit ridiculous. Don't allow HA to drive!

you get the XP for destroying the fighter, you get assist XP even if you do not get the kill.

kill them faster, or go home.

    No more whining.

They already have this for 500 certs you can eject with no fall damage penalty.
  4. Kastrenzo

they are talking about the ability to bail out at all, should cost certs.

    sounds incredibly buggy to me,
  5. Mhaza

This sounds like an idea, I'm sick of these bailers.. Whenever I suspect Daddy is behind me, I'm doing the log off on him. But I still feel bad about it because sometimes I might deny a fairplayer a kill.

YES. Fix is so easy. Why is this so hard to implement, SoE?

Stop posting in the forums if you lack the basic reading comprehension skills, bro.

So why aren't you destroying his vehicle to a point, Waiting for him to jump out and kill him once he emerges from his tank? I've never had an issue with people getting out of their tanks. What annoys me is when I get the jump on a guy repairing his tank and just before the last bullet hits he's back inside.

Your sense of entitlement is amusing

    What does entitlement mean?

    It's fine as it is.
They upped the XP you get for killing planes and given high amounts of assist points just for players who bail out on you.
Earlier at the enemies base, I was just a lone MAX roaming around and killed 9 flying things. 3 human kills that stayed in their planes(they could not get out in time)..
My lonesome self got 9 SOB planes out of the sky. I don't care if they splat on the ground. I got decent XP + certs for it.

I don't see how what I said was off topic or misinformed in regards to original post, so I don't get what you are griping about

This is outright stupid. Driving as an HA so you can finish your enemy is a strategic decision. Rather than simply dying off when your tank is gone you are effectively removing your enemy's tank from the battle too. Disallowing HA to drive a tank because he can even the odds when his tank goes down is just as stupid as disallowing Engineers to drive any vehicle because they can escape a losing battle and repair the damage, allowing their vehicle to last longer. It's the same stupid idea and its not unfair, its a tactical decision.
  14. EvilJollyT

So many baddies in this thread fighting to protect their right to escape from a fight they lost.

Make it so if you haven't received damage for 20 seconds say then a suicide is a suicide but of you hit them with your gun and they die in 20 seconds, then the XP is shared out amongst all that hit the victim or it all goes to you if you were the only one?

Go on, hop in a plane and see how long it takes you to shoot down an enemy ESF with just the rotaries. Then do it again with a fully upgraded lock-on missile.

You know how it takes 3 seconds to reload those weapons? Yeah, you can't do **** in that time and then he has time to bail. And you can't kill an enemy ESF at full health with one mag/missle.

For crying out loud, EVERY OTHER FPS I play credits a kill to the last guy to damage somebody who suicides within a certain time period. Why doesn't PS2 do it as well?

I could've unlocked every upgrade I wanted for my Reaver if I got kills for bailing suiciders.

And don't even try to compare this to tank drivers bailing. How many infantry are in a ground battle that includes tanks compared to the number of flying ships in an air battle? Each of those people have guns that can kill the bailing driver in seconds. So can the explosion of the tank itself.

TIME FOR ONE OF MY, 'YOU KNOW THAT GAME PLANETSIDE? GUESS WHAT THEY DID RIGHT ONCE AGAIN" speech.

They had it so when the aircraft was 35% health you weren't allowed to bail it, you'd receive a message, "The ejection is malfunctioning" or something along the lines of "you cant get the **** out you are too deep in that **** to run away now" for vehicles.

this **** is purely part of how copying battlefield makes this game much better like how MBTs only need one man, and others parts of the game.

also a lot of those ****** don't know how to bail anyways it could count as your kill forcing them to suicide since they panic and press E more so than actually planning a good place or time to bail.

    P.S.
You could get out of your ****** up aircraft if you properly landed even if your thing was all messed up, it was just you couldn't bail it during flight.

I disagree, What they should do to fix this IMO is make it so if the pilot dies after a dog fight, the kill is credited to the attacker.

I don't want to have to cert 'quick bail' because that will probably over write flairs, and then how do I make quick emergency landing wile my aircraft is on fire? I land and live more often than not and I often get to save my aircraft. Do not punish people that are set on fire yet manage to get their feet on the ground safely with our without their aircraft.

LAs bailing is fine with me as well.

They just need to figure out a way to credit a kill if the pilot bails and dies or crashes into a wall.
  19. Luighseach

I actually get annoyed if I get the pilot kill. If I know my Reaver is going down I jump out and shoot it to see if I can blow it up so the enemy won't get the XP.

Some may says its not honorable or its childish but its just something I've always done and expect others to follow suit. I've had it done to me and I just fly to the next target.

I've even had someone jump out of a tank as a heavy and blow up his tank to deny me points.

Its part of the game and I will use it.

I would rather they just have ejection seats without having to cert into them. I mean really in the future planes don't come with ejection seats.

Edit: Also when I eject from aircraft I tend to shoot at the enemy. I have actually killed an enemy ESF that was hurt by shooting at it after ejecting.

I mean I couldn't have done that if I took the cowards way out and been scared of a little suicide.

THANK YOU! You're one of the few in this thread who has a clue. I can't believe the people in here who are essentially saying, "It's your fault -- you didn't kill him quickly enough." Really? Do you not realize that in dogfights, you can only kill enemy ESFs so fast? There are no "instakill" weapons that can destroy his aircraft before he has a fairly large window of opportunity to bail out. There just aren't. I'm convinced that the people using the "You didn't kill him fast enough" excuse either rarely fly or haven't flown once. The people comparing ESF bailers to tank bailers make me laugh, too. The two circumstances are incomparable simply because the guy who jumps out of a tank is extremely vulnerable and easy to kill, whereas the guy who bails out of an ESF to his death is nigh impossible to kill (good luck shooting him during his fast mid-air fall, especially with the game's often horrendous hit detection).

I'm among those who believe that if a pilot bails to his death, if an ESF damaged him within the past, say, 10-15 seconds, that person (in the ESF) is awarded the kill. It only makes sense, and would actually reward deserving players with both the vehicle destruction and kill.
