[Suggestion] Make any Base a Wapgate to Fight from

At the moment the some bases/outposts get fort over a lot and some very little.

This is because for any empire the closer you get to an enemy Wapgate the harder it gets - therefore most of the fighting is in the middle of the map. See typical battle situation below:

So the idea is to remove the Wapgates as a special static geographical thing and instead place the dome over any base or outpost - with each empire getting one Wapgated facility each. The dome could just be placed over the base/outpost, and be the required size so that it covers the buildings and vehicle terminal ect.

Then the battle map could take on a lot more shapes and there would be more variety in the fight, as each empire doesn'thave to fight from a corner all the time as they do now. Computer simulation of outcome courtesy of Microsoft paint:

If you imagine it; the Wapgates could be moved around each time continent is locked so that the areas where there is little fighting, and the areas where there are lots of fighting change depending on where the Wapgates are located. It could even be the Wapgated facilities are the ones that are more towards the middle of the map to mix things up. Development wise it is just a case of putting the Wapgate bowl over the existing facilities.

At the moment most facilities that aren't full bases don't have the facility to spawn air vehicles; so I guess that would have to be added to the facilities under the Wapgate.

    Thoughts?

I've suggested something similar, but simpler.

You pick 6 other bases that can potentially become warpgates. They still need to be a distance away from the other warpgates so you don't get two who are almost against each other and more likely to fight. The original warpgate becomes a capturable base.
This won't help though if you don't change the starting lanes. Fights happen at the same points because the frontline simply starts there, the warpgate has little to do with it with the exception that if someone zergs down a lane (which basically removes a fight at those bases altogether) that the zerg stops when it reaches the warpgate and leaves. So you are required to move the frontlines to specific points in order to maximize the bases that will form frontlines and be fought over.
