Simple suggestion, lower the Magrider mobility. It should not be that Magriders can climb every cliff up to 90 degrees with ease and thus leap upwards a hundred meters. This is the case next to The Crown on Indar. Now i do not think it is good to take away all of the mobility. But making it so the Driver has to choose raw speed and ability to go vertical or the sideways dashing should be more pronounced. It is combo of that, plus a high dps (as it should be) that makes Magriders just not fun to fight. While a Vanguard or Prowler is stuck when positioned badly, a Magrider is way to forgiving for risky strategies and and ambushes. I am on purpose not going into bulletdrop, as i do not know enough about how the Magrider handles in that departement. I hope there will be discussions about adjusting Magriders into a Role akin to what Light assault is, so the have less evasion abilities. Thanks for reading
First, try to play with this technique, then offer ideas. This technique is very difficult to control and requires many hours of practice to master the advantages and apply them correctly in battle.
And the Prowler's technique is suiciding, and mashing B, because the game doesn't let you deploy straight away. Poking from far away doing jack, giving away your position, cause enemy simply ducks behind cover and heals up. Deployment's more so appropriate for AA duty, but again, the meta on Prowler is Ranger Flak AA, because it is more suitable to be operated solo, as it behaves more as a light recon tank, but nobody knows that because it has MBT label when it is not, and people just suicide because they get deceived by the description. Like I wouldn't necessarily search for ways to nerf VS because NC and TR have plenty of room for improvement, that could correlate more so with their traits and lore. But so far this wasn't displayed by latest devs, who think trait of TR is me shoot fast, and not mass production of well-engineered reliable & practical items as described in the official lore. And thinking NS owns TR, when it is a TR company and it originated in TR.
nah what makes the magrider strong is its base ability itself - hovering another issue in general that should be nerfed down abit that goes for all tanks, is the topguns of the halberd and the other one (forgot the name but it basically shoots out a tank looking round) they're velocities are way too quick for latencyside so you will get hit by the invisible hitbox before the actual animation reaches you. same applies for AP rounds, they're just too fast for latencyside, lots of aimbot hackusations are called because of this very issue. double mag boost can be abused with lag and some magrider mains do that for sure. if you ever see a magrider corner camping behind a rock or any sort of hill / bump, dont engage because it just allows them to poke dps at you before going in for the kill. Also Secret tech for magrider that they dont want you to know about is to increase your vehicle sensitivity to the max so you can turn faster which is also a factor of how you see some magrider players able to traverse across terrain easily. what i would suggest to a proper magrider nerf is since they have the ability to drift around easily, they should not be able to have flak armor (or whatever its called that reduces damage from grenades and c4) as they can easily just double boost away around a corner and heal that being said if you want to really piss off magrider mains like i do everytime i log on for fun just use the very ability they have against them and become a javelin main like me.
My subjective Lightning guy perspective, the Magrider is not OP. In fact it is a bit harder to fight against the Prowler. Sure, the Magrider can climb to crazy places, but this often exposes its position from far away. Sneak behind it with a bit of luck and then the Magrider is quite vulnerable. First two L100 Python HEAT hits give the Lightning a realistic chance to win 1on1. It is suicide to try this against a Prowler. Sure, Magriders can perform wild hovering manouvers. The fixed main cannon though is a huge disadvantage and limits abilities and places, where you want to be, substantially. Hovering sideways may be a good option in medium distance combat, but overall the Prowler seems to be easier to handle for most players and is agile as well. Another aspect that stands out, is sound. The Magrider is very silent for main battle tank, but many players don’t make use of it. They could totally surprise the enemy, but instead they search for direct confrontation. The Prowler has the best sound in the whole game. If I don’t know a Prowler’s exact position, its deep aggressively roaring engine still can make me nervous and sometimes leads to mistakes. The cannon sounds are also great and leave no doubt about the amount of damage, they can spit out. The Prowler "feels" stronger in my opinion, but there are some very good Magrider players.
Oh, that's also a cool topic, engine sound effects. Why don't the devs increase the sound of tank engines? Sound itself is another interesting element to tank warfare which would add no stress on game. I personally barely hear it. Vehicle fires as well. They literally have it but never use it. It would add color to tank warfare and immersion as well. Just something stupid, like you hit back of tank and it lights on fire. Only emergency repair will take out the flames or repairing it for at least x amount of seconds.. You know. Prowler, I would personally want it removed from TR and change into the TR's new tracked Sunderer to replace the NS Sunderer (or keep it for exclusivity if you already have cosmetics), to support Lightening tanks which are the MBT, as it matches its height and maneuverability. Would symbolize strength in unity, only together they can take on the NC Vanguard tank, symbolize mass production, you would notice many tracked vehicles. Current Prowler is deceitful, and I see it being the sole reason of tank battle losses for the TR. Due to incorrect use, which is impossible to correct. The team will continue using it like that, unless it is reworked in some way. I didn't add details on purpose because it's off topic. Simply my sugging was to get rid of Prowler design somehow. You can't tell people what not to use, by design it is a sabotage to your own team.
