yer I've learned to jump on top of tanks now, when the idiots asll bunch up I jsut bounce around on top of em.. safer

1- They hit my weak point for massive damage. Only I don't know what the weak point is.
i have never had this - only when they hit my rear do i seem to take massive damage

2- Magrider and friendly fire issues.
be a bit more careful maybe? - i rarely run over people in my mag (it does happen but not enough to worry about it)

3- The third rank of combat chassis is a drawback compared to the previous one.
never noticed this - i just about went straight to rank 3

4- Fourth equipment slot. It's there since the last patch and actually I think every vehicle has it.
    yep does nothing for now

Well, the Magrider is a tank powered by Skyrim horses which is able to climb everything that is not a straight up wall. But the problem for No. 1 is probably that PS2 doesn't calculate where the rocket hits but from what angle it was shot (afaik). So if I run behind a Magrider, shoot my Decimator and the bugger turns around, the game counts it as a rear shot.

And for No. 4: It's the horns for the Flash and Sundy, maybe we'll get ice cream truck jingles for our tanks in the future.
  4. Armodeen

No, it's because all the ***** magriders ran them over on the way to the objective.

Seriously they are the most dangerous thing to VS infantry, and don't even think about going to repair one driven by a random because he's virtually guaranteed to mow you down the second he gets hit again
  5. Tasogie

lol on Briggs you never see VS infantry unless absolutely desperate. Normally your facing 20 mags at 500m just heading shotting with 1 hit.
  6. Sowahka

Starting to feel like we have a community of nothing but grumpy kids. OP posts a topic about problems he found and people immediately start spazzing out about things being OP and not needing buffs.

VS have no infantry because the mags run them all over. Also, you see magspam because they can hover over lightnings and eachother, clusters of mags aren't stuck in a traffic jam, the other two factions always are because they can't move past eachother.

Anyways, in regards to the weak point, are they possibly hitting your top armor? As I understand it it's easier to hit the top armor of a mag from the front because it juts out. Basically it's jusy the middle "hump" that the secondary weapon is sitting on

Extreme exaggerations, i.e. outright lies, are a great way to get your point across.
  8. Tasogie

haha na actually it more like 300. Those cannons are as good as sniper rifles usually. I just keep something big between me an them at all times.
  9. Stormlight666

Exactly. We combat engies are the toughest SOB's in the game. No other class is out in the open, dodging fire and repairing the front lines without heavy armor protecting them.
  10. Stormlight666

He's not lying, as an engie I die more often from a magrider snipe than anything else (except maybe lib fire nowadays). They are way to accurate, especially since they're way at range when they get me with a headshot.

There seems to be a legend arising that the Magrider is some unstoppable death machine which has other factions tanks quivering in fear. It has its strengths and its weaknesses.

I'm beginning to think that the other factions tanks are fueled by the hot salty tears of their pilots because all I ever see on this forum is people whining about how a Magrider killed them once and it's not fair. I've been in many 1v1s againt other tanks and it all comes down to who's driving, not the tank. Sometimes I win, sometimes I dont but mostly it's who has the most friendlies around, not the differences between the factions.

We spawn Mags because they're fun to ride and jump and look cool - but hey, maybe we should just give every side the same **** and paint it a different colour. That would be interesting wouldn't it.

Look at all the TR and NC tears. He's not saying to make the Magrider more powerful where it already has an advantage, he's saying it has a few flaws in general that don't really apply to MBT game balance.

    1. The weakness of all tanks including the Mag is the rear

    2. Friendly fire is an issue for me as well. I use racer chassis and I can run over enemies without even touching them but I manage to kill any teammate that gets within a yard of me every single time. I'd say 1 out of 3 times I run over an enemy and they actually take damage.

    3. That's just the price you pay for the combat chassis. Everything has its flaws.

    4. Yes this is always annoying. I hope they add some cert refund system because I've spent hundreds of certs without knowing what I was buying. Trial system isn't ideal for testing weapons.
  13. forkyar

    negative,magrider is op.
  14. SolidSnake

I have read many "nerf this and that" posts and after seeing in game what they were complaining about I often times disagree. This tank however does deserve to be tuned down. The fact that it can hover from left to right while facing forward makes it incredibly OP. They just keep hiding behind rocks and firing those weapons that accurately hit from about 300m.

It's too good of a combination for one tank. Now if you want to give the other faction tanks something to compensate for that sure but as it stands Magriders are way better than any other equivalent tank. They need to have the accuracy or range of their weapons reduced significantly, it's a floating platform after all OR reduce the speed at which they can strafe left to right, hell I think it should be eliminated altogether. One of the two has got to go.
  15. D0n

    This tale ends like this:

" And so they nerfed the magrider and Vanu ceased to exist ".
  16. GamerOS

Nah, they'll just adapt and find out their Infantry weapons in many occasions outclass those of their enemies and will continiou wreaking havoc, tough to a lesser degree.
  17. Naberius13

Join us on Genudine if you think he's exaggerating. If anything he's understated it. He's also not counting the Scythe and Libbies flying around. We've held off Vanu attacks because none of them are willing to get out of their tanks and once they're gone the attack sort of just collapses.
  18. WUNDER8AR

lol gotta love the tears in this thread.

most likely it's got to be this way in a Magrider vs. *insert random tank* scenario:

Magrider shoots at your tank while strafing around. You on the other hand feel much more attracted to nearby infantryman. Magrider is still shooting at you whilst strafing around, but during the process it accidentally overruns all of the nearby allies, thus denying your kills and in the end killing you and your tank. You're mad because you achived nothing. The Magrider driver is left all alone, having to deal with a guilty conscience due to just having killed a dozen of allies.

Mag driver comes to the forums to try to explain what must of went wrong. You hijack his thread to call Magriders op.
  19. Kalmageddon

Since this thread as moved to more productive discussion let me get back to it.

    I'll adress mostly point 1 and 2

1- Let me give an exemple so you can perfectly understand why I don't think it's the rear armor. One time I was drving around in my Mag with a friend acting as a secondary weapon gunner. Then it gets damaged and I dismount to repair, only to find that for some weird glitch I couldn't get back in, it simply wouldn't let me. My friend exits the vehicle too and we try to "fix" the magrider. Which, since we were running out of option, involved my friend taking his rocket laucher out and shooting my Mag on the front armor. Immediatly the Magrider gets dropped from from full health to less then half health.
Hits registering twice does seem like a good explanation, but then I would guess that other kinds of vehicles would have noticed this problem.

2- Let me be perfectly clear about the friendly fire issue: if I run over friendly infantry and I kill them that's not a bug, that's me being careless and it would be really stupid for me to complain about it. The problem is another one. Friendly infantry (and only friendly infantry, not enemies) seem to be extremly susceptible to damage when approaching my magrider. That's not me running them over, that's me sitting still with my mag and all of a sudden someone dies and I get the blame. One of the most notable of such occurences went as such: I was in my mag, standing still near an ammo tower, damaged. A friendly engineer sees me and helpfully runs towards me to repair. He runs INTO my magrider (which, again, was not moving at all) and dies.
I've never had the impression that the magrider was so lethal at roadkilling enemies (indeed it's the least effective tank to use in such role since it flies over enemies), thus my confusion as to why friendly fire damage seems way out of proportion and indeed happening even when it shouldn't.
