Magmowers. Is this EVER going to get fixed?

i got weapon locked once, because i had to kill that one friendly 10 times while he was trying to destroy my tank after i accidentally ran him over.
i'd be happy if you werent able to roadkill at all with the magrider, its hard enough to move around in a battle if there are more than 2 magriders

What part of flanking isn't pushing? You'll inevitably kill their armor and fill in the gap with your own vehicles (the handful still on the frontline.)

Pushing isn't about setting your tanks up in a neat row, it's about doing whatever you need to clear the territory you want to advance to, and then advancing to it. Most of the situations which are poorly suited to Magrider tanking are also bad for regular tanking (choke-pointy areas with very narrow ground corridors that limit flanking). If you have smart Mag drivers who know how to climb walls, they can often expand the "limit" on ground vehicles in these battles considerably, but other times (walled bases) there's simply a hard limit on how many ground vehicles you want to field and it comes down to using aircraft instead.

Many players don't understand that. Often I've suggested fielding lots more "vehicles" only to watch my faction go nearly all ground vehicles against bases with fairly limited ground access. So a lot of players just aren't putting a lot of thought into vehicle play, and aren't choosing air when they need to. (Most are bad, and out there getting farmed as infantry while doing almost nothing useful.)

The part where you don't push the front line.

Heavies push, infiltrators flank. Not the same thing.

No. I'm not saying it's fine, I'm sure it's incredibly frustrating. But it's the kind of frustrating I see no reason to remove. Suck it up.

mb magriders NEED TO STOP STRAFE !!!!

There's still a magrider or two up front pushing.

There's also the part where even if there weren't, by flanking you took the territory. You own that bit of land. Your sunderers can move into position. Mission accomplished. So nitpicking about whether we're allowed to call that "pushing" is irrelevant: the land is now yours and you've pushed into it.
  7. Xasapis

It's not nitpicking. Magriders can't push. They can flank. Not the same thing.
  8. Alkezo

Magriders can push, just not as effectively en-masse as TR or NC.
  9. Xasapis

Sunderers can push harder than Magriders.
  10. Diilicious

I see way more sunderers attacking than MBT's or lightnings these days.

packs of sunderers with furys. normally some with blockade armour and at least 2 with area repair

    1. Magriders can't push en masse or very concentrated, as they lose their strafe, becoming just lightnings with a little more dps and health.

    2. Flanking doesn't work in the open, or if their is only one or 2 chokepoints to get into a base etc.

You guys and your fancy technology can't figure it out....but here in 'murica!

The NC prototype hover tank is experiencing great success in the not teamkilling department. It has taken his head and torso clean off yet the nanites keep him alive.

The wonky vehicle physics thing happens to us all, though it is more aggregious for Magriders just by dint of their larger horizontal profile. My favorite bit is when I am sitting perfectly stationary in a Vanguard and someone runs up to me, presses their face firmly against the front fender of my tank which has been stationary for like six minutes because I am defending an AMS and the person suddenly dies and I get a TK. How did my stationary tank ran over that guy SOE, how?

While we are on the subject: Can you please make vehicle wreckage less lethal to other vehicles? Again, in a vanguard, I've been destroyed by having a flaming harasser tire bounce off my tank.
  14. Turyen

As TR, sometimes I ignore a lone Magerider because I assume that he'll kill far more Vanu with his tank, than I with mine.

    Sometimes I'm correct!

Considering there are no areas that are completely open (except for those rivers on Esamir), those fields are where flanking is actually possible. Using the terrain to your advantage is much more difficult impossible when its pidgeon-holing everyone through a straight line. There are also a lot of bases with gate shields that make flanking impossible The Magrider just needs to know what areas he can flank in order to utilize his strengths.

    1. That was the point of literally saying "there's still a magrider or two up front". When the flanking mags hit, those guys are the ones up the center who push through to take the ground that has been cleared. They can strafe because there are only a few of them. And while it's a minor factor, it's significant enough to be worth pointing out that Magriders glide over Lightnings (which means you can have AP/Skyguard lightnings up there helping without preventing Magriders from working well.

    2. Flanking can happen in all but areas which are completely devoid of cover. Even the sparse hills and rocks of northern indar are enough to flank (in part because you can flank in such an extreme way that you won't even render, if you need to get out that far.)

None of which implies I feel the Mag is perfectly fine as a tank. But certainly I feel my 19 VKPH is in better shape than my awful 14.2 Vanguard VKPH, and worse shape than my 20.8 Prolwer VKPH. Mags play differently, but they still destroy vehicles sufficiently well to push fronts.
