My main advantage is that I can position myself well. I don't see why I should be punished because some people refuse to be situationally aware. I am against higher TTK.
wait what? When was PLanetside 2 EVER labeled an "RTS"?? hahahaha I can see how some might thing that... but it is a SHOOTER top to bottom. If this was RTS, I'd never play it. Too boring.
Mark, can you stop with the BS Positioning is ALWAYS going to matter, if it takes a minute or a moment to kill, you landing all of your shots while your cover blocks half of his will ALWAYS result in you killing your enemy twice as fast as they kill you. The only difference is what you just mentioned only brought up you as an individual. "I can take more advantage of position, I don't see why I should have this happen to me." Thanks for proving my point, fast TTK is not for team play.
Low TTK makes positioning less meaningfull. If your twitch skill is much better you can get shot in the back, make evasive move and finish attacker with sequential headshots, even if he's partially covered. This way twitch skill is far superior to tactics, positioning, creativity etc. i saw some ppl slaughtering everybody at 40+m with SMG, when they supposed to be fragmeat for mid-range weapon. Why? Cause with low TTK twitch means more that putting some thought in weapon choice.
The only reason I can see why raising to TTK would be beneficial is to allow for more diversity in weapon stats. If you really look at all the numbers for the weapons, they're all pretty similar actually. I'd love more damage models, etc. But the current stats don't really allow for it without something else becoming redundant. But for actual gameplay, no, I'd hate a higher TTK.
