It needs an opacity slider, similar to the chat box opacity slider. I find it more useful at displaying energy than the previous iteration, it's just too opaque.
I wouldnt mind, got killed like 8 times today because the HUD was yelling at me " NNO NONONNNNO look at me not the enemy im soooo shiny" its pretty and all but takes to much of the eye.
