loooong logins, lag and crashes

So i tried to log in tonight at 21:20 at UTC+01:00.

1) Spending 25 mins being stuck/crashing on character selection screen
2) finally getting in. Massive lag, 1-5 sec lag.
3) 5 mins later, after spending 25 mins logging in: crash to desktop.

SOE. Thats not good.

Ohh and for the record, my machine:
OS: Windows 7
Processor: Intel i5 - 3,40 GHz
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Video Memory: 2048 MB RAM
Video Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 670

How do people miss the big red messages at the top of the forums every time?
(Although if you're in Europe, haven't your servers been derping for weeks now?)

Yes. but there is a difference between my usual, 5-15 min login crashes/waiting and now having to wait 25 mins and before tonight i have never had 1 whole sec of server side lag. Not getting hit marks, and stuff like that. makes it pretty unplayable.
