I am looking for a ranged HA load out
-primary focus anti armor possibly anti air

I'm not a twitch...heavy movement player. Till now I've been playing an engineer with mana turret.....strong explosives expertise with mines and c-4. My infil sniper skills are improving nicely.

I was wondering if the Anihilator is a great weapon for all around anti air/vehicle fighting as a specialty. If noticed many pick the Decimator anti vehicle weapon and would like thoughts on which to acquire.I.I can afford either weapon.

Should I just stick with engineer mana turret to fight vehicles ? or can a HA bring other things to the "party".
    I play VANU on Emerald.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Ursa would prolly be a good place to start for a ranged weapon. 550RpM, 167dmg, slap a grip, comp and your choice of optic. The little time i spent with it in VR, it was incredibly easy to control. But, my time with VS is pretty much nill sooo...what do I know

I have a very specialist load out for long range using both the Lancer and Lasher. Both weapons are very niche, but if you can get into a group with others with the same weapons, on a high vantage point it's both devastatingly effective, and a laugh a minute.

For more conventional set ups consider the Flare with the Lancer or a lock on.

I would use the Decimator for close range work like the Solar 1.

What KnightCole said. Ursa is your long-range heavy solution. Flare will work too if you're short on certs.

For long range, Flare/Ursa with Annhilator/Nemesis/Lancer with standard NMG, Munitions pouch/FlakArmor/Adv.Capacitor with Av grenade and C4. Grab either Regeneration or Enhanced Targetting implants.

My setup is usually Flare for its flexibility as a short-med-long range LMG with Lancer cause it can hit anything if your good enough. Stanadrd NMG and Munitions pouch for longevity.

Taganwolf, not sure if you're still shopping for AV options, but here's my take.

    For AV

The Annihilator is a decent beginner weapon. Lock-on lets you hit ground and air vehicles out in the open pretty easily, even at long range. But since the rocket travels in a shortest-path-to-target trajectory it often slams into walls, hillsides trees, etc while heading towards its target. So its new player friendly but can be frustrating when the rockets keep hitting obstacles. It also has no dumbfire mode, so you can't fire it wiithout a lock, which means no anti-MAX ability.

For most people the Decimator is purely a high-damage, close range weapon. It does a little more damage than the default S1 launcher, travels a little more slowly, and takes a little longer to reload. You also carry 1 less rocket than the default. TBH the S1 is just as good in most situations. The Decimator has a nice niche for cloae range anti-MAX duty and jamming a rocket up a tank's backside up close, but that's about it.

My personal favorite is the Lancer. Extremely long range, pinpoint accurate, deceptively good DPS. It has a bad reputation amongst many VS for doing too little damage but it's largely unfounded if you look at the numbers. I really wish lots more VS carried it. We'd be a stronger faction in the field if they did. It's even good against Libs and Gals, although hitting fast moving ESFs can be a challenge and requires good aim.

    For AI

As a VS HA, you really only have 2 options for long range work: The Ursa or the Eidolon. The Eidolon has the longest effective range and past 125m or so it can't be challenged by anything but the infil's sniper/SA scout rifles. But its low damage makes it tough for a lot of people to use effectively and most give up on it quickly.

OTOH the Ursa is more mid-to-long range, whereas the Eidolon for most people is purely long range. The Urse is the most accurate LMG the VS have. It can hold its own against most other long range automatics pretty well and is better up close than the Eidolon should you need it.

I should also mention the Lasher. It's good for long range suppression, but it's a bit of a different beast. It's good at spamming chokepoints and enemy AMSes from a long distance. It's not really meant for 1v1 work but can still be deadly at long range you're firing from above your targets and can splash at their feet, or can otherwise trap them in the splash damage.

Others have suggested the Flare for long range... this is wrong. It's the most inaccurate 167 LMG in the game and outside of pistols the most inaccurate 167 weapon in the game. It's not bad and is my favorite LMG in the game, it's just never to be used for range work.

That said, the Ursa wouldn't be bad, the Eidolon isn't bad if you're not taking it indoors, however you should also consider the NS-15m since it's super accurate and gets 0.75 ADS.

Also, the Annihilator isn't bad but try the Nemesis (G2A lock-on) since it can be dumb fired against ground targets like MAXes and vehicles but is great against air.

The Lancer/Eidolon combo is really, really good if you're at range but I would never take either of those to an indoor fight.
