I know this has probably been done to death, but can this please be considered? At least five times this week I've seen successful pushes after a long hard fight be completely derailed by one guy TKing all the sundys with mines. No way to even stop it without tking them over and over.
It would be a alright feature. Make it annoyingly long enough that it deters faction swapping in poor sport. No reason to not add faction timers, especially now that passive cert gain is gone. I would venture most people rapidly switching factions are exploiting in one way or another. Most often to tk the opposite team, or to collect on alert certs without participating in the win condition.
so if another faction locked Indar, i cant log-in into another character to use cheap aircraft? if you don't play fair,and being punished by mad player why other players must suffer?
It will never happen. No way they will punish paying customers, when anybody that wants to troll can make a separate account on this F2P game. Not to mention that it is so rare, that it is not worth the effort.
Honestly, I would prefer one faction choice per server but server merges have pretty much ended that dream. I ended up with all three factions on one server after that. I would be happy with what they had in Planetside 1. Playing Vanu and want to switch to TR? Ok. But its gonna be a couple hours till you can go back to Vanu. Wouldn't stop a mad cause they're bad player from side switching to tk, but they wouldn't get to go back to their main faction for the win.
The game is just a shallow shooter that happens to have large maps. There really isn't any reason to keep people from playing what faction they want when they want. Maybe if at some point when the factions and territory actually matter, but I doubt they ever will.
I know I killed a VS on my NC toon and then wouldn't you know it an NC guy shows up with a very similar name in the Spawn Room and starts vaporizing me. He killed me like 5 times after I kept asking him not too and finally I had to put him down and told him over Prox if he came back I would put my foot in his *** every time thereafter. Look at my killboard on BoardWax and you will see what I'm talking about. The guy's a chump and if I every see him again I've got 4 more TK's I owe him. Freak.
