Locking 2 continents is too much

Current 2 continent lock + lattice results in total mayhem.
Gone are the small and medium engagements, it is just zerging everywhere.

Game is getting very boring due to this, especially during prime hours.Everywhere I go, it is a huge zerg ghost capping or 2 zergs against each other.

Suggestion: Limit continent locking to 1 continent and Hossin should be lockable too.

This is on Ceres btw. I am fed up with the big zergs, where after 2 steps out of spawn you get blown up or shot in the back or HS by sniper.

SUPERBORING, no more tactical play, just a massive spamfest.

Without it you just get 50% pop for each faction on separate continents.

Every faction just picks a continent and zergs with minor resistance.

    Yeah, that needs to go.

    Forumside.... once again.

    READ the road map.

Also theres a patch coming out next week that will fix a few things.

    Also the cap is fine.

    not true at all.

The game was better without the Hossin patch. I just quit and I will not log back today, I am tired of zerging, it is just random death.
If people enjoy ghost capping that is their choice. The current game is just a massive meat grinder without any tactics or strategy.

I love PS2 and I would love to see it get better ,but it is just not happening.

Continent Lock threads need to be against the guidelines

Dynamic locking is coming. I'm looking forward to late nights without each empire being cowards on their own continent. Connery is set to 1 lock at a time.

I get the feeling you miss the hex system too.

Agreed. We should stick to continent lock opposition threads instead.

After playing and having a blast last night, I signed on this afternoon hoping to play some more only to find myself denied access to my battleground. So it's forumside instead.

I wouldn't even be playing if I was stuck on a server that only had two continents opened at once.

    Connery should really be 2

CL is boring, PS2 is a new game with CL and it isnt fun :/
But if the goal with CL is to lose players it do it good.
  14. Scr1nRusher

    its not.

because we actually have meaning, meta and greater strategy

    yet it is.

    thats not true at all.

honestly I remember posts like your back when the lattice came out.

people complained about it, yet it has been good for the game.

This has already been discussed ad nauseum but I guess I'll be forced to keep repeating myself until part of this community starts to understand what this game is really about.
PlanetSide 2 is a Massively Multiplayer first person shooter that delivers truly epic, massive combat on a scale never before seen in stunning, breathtaking detail.

What I'm trying to say here is that the bloody point of the game are the "zergs", the massive fights (That's the "fun gameplay" of the game, because no one else in the market offer this kind of battles). If you don't like that's fine you are well within your right to dislike. But in that case, just stop playing because this is probably not your type of game.

If I and others wanted 10x10/30x30 battles with some vehicles arounds we would probably be playing Battlefield, when it comes to just that, it is a better game than Planetside 2.

At for the CL.. What we have now is Stage 1. But at any rate, if we are allowed to only lock 1 Continent each faction picks their "favorites" zones to fight for or focus on the ones that have minimun resistence as we've seen contless times already, which again goes against the main selling point of the game.

What we need are a couple new open terrain continents. At any given time a player should have at least one alternative to Hossin, Amerish and the current walled off version of Esimir (which was actually a decent map at one time and could easily be fixed). Right now, if Indar is locked I'm not inclined to play. It's not that I insist on Indar, it's that I insist on avoiding the other three.

A couple new continents characterized by high visibility and omnidirectional travel over tranversable terrain with large open bases would be welcome.

    “CL is boring,”
    its not.

I guess thats why Ceres is so empty then :)

or the fact that out of the 4 EU servers its one of them that has a low population.

which is why the EU servers are going to be merged from 4 to 2 in the near future.

"Read the road map" is a terrible response. Just because they're working on something (with an average wait time of more than a year for most features on their) doesn't mean a mechanic is fun or enjoyable in the mean time. For example, the mission system. It adds absolutely nothing to the game at the moment except getting in the way in my HUD. When we gave this critique when it was first released, the dev response was "well this is only phase I, the others will be coming out soon(tm)." Several months later and we haven't seen anything about part two since then.

Now, I do like the current form of continent-locking to some extent, but I'm also on Emerald where we only have one continent locked. From a leadership perspective, I miss having alerts (especially global alerts). Right now, everyone is on perpetual farm mode because during a normal primetime it's almost impossible to capture a continent unless your opponents are being completely incompetent. On the other hand, it's also kind of nice from a leadership perspective because now I can always look at territory control on each of the three continents and figure out where our squads need to go. However, it still feels so, so incomplete. I don't want to wait until May of 2015 or something to get the next part of this system, because this game is not in beta anymore.

Continent locking reduces ghost capping, so it's a good thing.
