List of Reasons people TK for Exp

    1. Sunderer location
    2. Fellow medics so you get more revives/heals (also heard of not reviving other medics)
    3. Fellow engineers (same principle, getting the repair gun exp instead of them)
    4. Killing terminal killers on principle, infiltrators killing terminal killers for hacking.
    5. General situations where one person feels the other "kill stealed" and TK over it.

Alright so those were the ones I've heard/read/seen of off the top of my head. Continue to flesh out the list with more nuanced and/or detailed scenarios of TKing for the exp. I figure a consolidated thread would be more useful.

If purposely TK'ed. I will drop all and focus on the tk'er. Attempting to counter anything it is doing. Till it quits.
  3. KoooZ

Just to clarify in case this begins a derailing: this isn't about TKing for giggles or getting run over, just tking over exp in one way or another.

    1. if you are placed poorly im gonna blow you up, if you are placed correctly you are safe, you might be getting blown to hell because you deployed at the first possible spot instead of a good spot
    2. I have never encountered this myself, must be a problem when your entire faction is full of lonewolves, and you have bigger problems at that point
    3. Same thing as 2
    4. Blowing the terminals in a base is a waste of ammunition just so you can farm xp with your repair tool. Hacking a terminal is rarely done for xp, and is done to help the team, even if the base is nearly taken i have stopped the defenders from pulling a sundie because i hacked the term instead of just blowing it up.
    5. Do you play with 5 year olds?

Also, this is not a personal complaint list. This is me pulling together all the reasons I've heard of that people tk for exp. Just a consolidation so these sporadic threads can be more useful.

1 and 4 are typically quite logical scenarios. You place a sunderer somewhere where it is completely useless or causing direct danger to the people spawning there - that will get your backside burned faster than you can say ROCKETPO--- (Especially considering the proximity limit on Sunderers - it is quite wide and people simply do not have - or should have patience with "stupid" positions)

An infiltrator is about to capture a critical terminal allowing your team to resupply, spawn vehicles (spawn sundie anyone), but someone starts shooting at it before they can get to it.

    Do you

A: Pray that VOIP works, yell at the person to stop shooting the terminal (if said person even cares)
B: Take your gun, shoot the person, hack the terminal - and hope they realize the folly of their ways instead of hunting you for the entire battle taking "revenge" on you (yes this has happened to me - ironically he was the one who ended up getting spawn killed on sight by everyone else for repeated killing)

I have no respect for medics and engis who exploit people's inability to realize the person who is reviving/repairing them is the one who damaged/killed them in the first place.
  7. Nekky

If I get intentionally tk'd then I will hunt that person down for payback. Also slightly off-topic but I would like to see who destroyed my vehicle when I am not in it. I parked my ESF near a tower so I could switch to engie and repair, some friendly Sundy rammed it and blew it up. I would like to have the name of people that do stupid **** like that.
  8. Shockfrosted

    6. Nitwits who run in front of my rockets
    7. Fools who run in front of my firing gun
    8. Derpys who run in front of my tank
    etc...

More often than not, TK is just a matter of the one getting killed lacking situational awareness or thinking he's going to steal a kill.
  9. toph1980

The other day I was heading from one (recently capped) base to another in my Prowler when out of nowhere a friendly Sunderer came flying down the hillside and basically just threw itself in front of me on the road so he could be first and get to the next base before the rest of the convoy (other friendly Sunderers). I tried to pass him on the left side of the road while he was struggling for control but he basically blocked me and had me run into him and then the same thing occurred when trying to pass him on the right side. And then one of its gunners decided to start shooting at me for having rammed them with my Prowler while trying to pass them, to the point where suddenly half my armor was gone. Dude just wouldn't stop shooting.

So I did what any sane player would and blew it out of the map...

Engineers that constantly put ammo packs right next to your sand closer to team mates are ******* ********. I dont shoot them unless they keep doing it.

I hate them because it shows that they're out puely for XP and not giving ammo to help out with defense or whatever.
  11. Silver Pepper

As far as I'm aware, you don't get Exp for repairing / healing damage done by friendlies, only enemies. If your tank gets hit by a friendly shell, or from crashes, you get no Exp for repairing it. I'm pretty sure something similar happens with friendly fire damage to infantry. This may or may not also be the case for deaths by falling, /suicide and friendly fire.

As for TKing someone for killstealing, that does not directly give you Exp in any way, unless somehow killing them means they don't kill more enemies, therefore more kills for you (note: more likely that it means "more enemies alive, now you're dead too").
  12. Gaseous Snake

No such thing as kill stealing in this game. It's an FPS for god sake and not like your regular MMO with named mobs. Everybody who is not in your faction is a threat. I roll medic and in many situations I HAVE come across other ***** medics who wouldn't want to revive me as I have a Level 5 revive kit and they have level 1 so they see me as a threat and they only revive people and not heal them completely.
