OK I m certing out a lightning to hunt infantry. I have rival 2 chassis. I can see stealth being useful to flank infantry packs. Then again when yo are on the move and auto repairing that seems real useful as well... It is a gut wrenching choice..what did you choose?
Stealth, but only if you can get the rank 3 or 4 upgrade. Until that point Auto repair is slightly more valuable. You could always take fire supression if your worried about minor or emergency repairs. <-- Has character with maxed lightning and 4 auraxiumed cannons.
i use my lightning with auto repair and fire suppresion, it make the ligthning more self sustainable even when not driving as an engineer,the fire suppresion felt like a infinite health pack for ur lighning when coupled with the auto repair you could just take hit and just run away and keep coming back, as for the frame i use racer, the reason being its really versatile for moving fast, climbing hills, and one of the most useful way to use it is to charge into an enemy formation and getting those sweet ram kill as for the cannon the default one or the heat should do well its just matter of prefrence if you like charging in the enemy group the default one will do very well, but if you want some flexsibility of your engangement the HEAT will do fine, other thing to know is that the HEAT is really good against harrasher two or three shot should be able to kill them, idk about the HE cannon so try asking someone else on that but from what i heard its really good.
max stealth auto repair takes so long to initialize if it was ever going to repair i might as well jump out and repair it anyways max stealth means you can sneak up on other tanks and people and usually get a few shots off before they even know you are there stealth every time
If you're not actively hunting other tanks I'd honestly go with max proximity radar, not only is it the best defence against C4 fairies (which you'll come across a lot targeting infantry), but it's nice for spotting that HA or Inf just behind a hill.
Both. Nanite Repair first, because even at rank 1 it's useful. Stealth needs to be near-max to be useful, but when you hit max stealth it's godly. Both have a place, depending on what you intend to be doing. If you're flanking / solo, stealth. If you're working as part of a wolf pack, nano-repair.
NAR. Half the time you dont even need stealth to sneak up on people. Repairing on the move at full speed is far underestimated by those who think they can just jump out and repair and have it be just as effective - its not. (thats like saying the harasser repair nerf didnt do anything to hurt it) Stealth is fun and all; I have it too - but it doesnt do anything to help you once the fight is on. It helps you get there, sure. As I said, you dont even need stealth to sneak up behind most of the other tankers. Personally, I used it when travelling through enemy territory that was fairly heavily populated and to keep hidden from air easier. All it takes is a keen enemy gunner to ruin the entire slot and make it wasted, which, while rare, does happen. I actually prefer it the other way around. NAR makes your tank self sufficient and able to keep on the move while repairing, like a Harasser used to. Stealth as part of the wolf pack is more like the Velociraptor pack - its the one you dont see that gets ya
Both. Repair first. Learn to be sneaky without Stealth otherwise Stealth will become a crutch and not a tool. Stealth is no good until max rank anyway. So save them certs up and get repair done first.
i actually run with armor/smoke on my lightning, but if i were you i'd get autorep first. because 50% of things that get me killed is when i hop out to repair
Repair.... This small tank is stelthy enough with proper cammo. Also I use it with my HA+AA launcher + heat canon. Perfect setup for oportunists and ambushers.
