PLEASE for the love of god nerf this ridiculous thing. An anti infantry cannon with explosive radius and 20 round magazine with a fast reload? WTF DBG? The Reaver gets a whopping 8-9 rounds in their Mustang anti infantry cannon and you give the VS 20? Come on...
It's balanced, because your farm instantly ends when even one source of AA appears. With Mustang AH, you can OHK and perform hit-and-run tactics very easily, allowing you to ignore AA. Also not to mention that for some reason AH is somewhat decent at AA duty, while LPPA is completely useless at it. Anti-MAX? AH trumps LPPA. Even though LPPA is a farm machine in the right hands, Mustang AH has different qualities and similar potential for not only farming infantry but also provides very powerful self defense. Both are at the same quality level, they just do things way differently.
If anything, it's the banshee that needs a buff. And this is coming from an almost exclusively infantry player, not a ground-pounder. Edit: Yes, I play Vanu 70% of the time. But when I've logged 800+ hours, that means I have plenty of experience with being killed by the LPPA in those other 240+ hours. No, I don't use the LPPA, not since I purchased it and realized how much I hated the flight controls not letting you make tiny adjustments to your aim.
Its not balanced, its been the best AI nosegun for a long time. IT HAS 70 ROUNDS AT MAX MAGAZINE SIZE.
I I could have sworn max rank magazine capacity was 100, has it been changed recently? You're still right, but I thought it was even more skewed than that.
Aircraft splash damage weapons generally need a major rework. There should be more emphasis on actually hitting your target, not area effect spam.
Doesn't matter. Normally I have to run away from AA or ESFs before I shot even 20 rounds. Fact is: PPA: Good AI, bad A2A - balanced Banshee: Okay AI, okay A2A - balanced Airhammer: Best AI, great and unique A2A - OP as **** PPA and Banshee are balanced to each other while the Airhammer is just OP in every way. Instagibs Infantry, Instagibs MAXes, Instagibs ESFs, Instagibs Harrassers...
Yeah, but an Airhammer has to close the distance to be able to get that damage in, and closing the distance is pretty had when you're flying a vehicle with a top speed of 350 kph and 3000 base HP, and your targets travel at top speed of 23 kph and have 1000 base HP without any of the resistance values a stock Reaver has. /s Seriously, you never see the Banshee being used on Hossin, whereas it's nearly impossible to hear anything the rest of the time over the sound of Reavers going "chnk, chnk, chnk, FWOOSHHHHHHH" as they get a few kills, and then afterburner away before anyone can even realize they're there.
Banshee... Okay AI?! Are you kidding? How many people could you kill with one Banshee clip? 2-3 at max. How many LPPA able to kill per one clip? Half a platoon. About a squad with Airhammer. I don't want it to be "okay a2a", that's not the weapon for air fight at all. I want it to be effective at AI. Or other AI noseguns less effective.
LPPA Scythe is a free kill in a A2A situation 100% of the time. Scythe is also the slowest cruise speed ESF. This a major trade off. Most Scythe pilots run a A2A nosegun and Photon Pods for this reason. If you increase LPPA orb velocity (turtle speed) by 500% or more but reduce damage or splash then you have a happy compromise. By no means does LPPA grant easy kills, it takes me 4-6 to kill a target now. I swear there was a stealth nerf to LPPA splash sometime in the last three months.
LPPA also announces its presence with orbs that lights up the sky like a Christmas Tree and a distinct sound that sounds like a hammer pounding against wood. You literally cannot see Banshee or Airhammer bullets. Airhammer is literally silenced for other Air.
LPPA strengths are grossly exaggerated. Its like most ESF AI weapons. Great at killing newbies, but not much else. It doesn't matter how many kills per day it gets, its WHEN it gets a kill is when it matters. And that's where its weak compared to other options. It has to loiter to get those kills. If its loitering there's no AA, no A2A, and no infantry even looking up. Look at the silly comment up above. "It kills a whole platoon." Yeah.. what happens if the platoon looks up and fires on the Scythe. Last I knew.. 48 x 125/143/167 damage weapons even with vehicle resistances instagibs a ESF. Otherwise, lets nerf Carbines and LMGs. They kill more than any other weapon in the game and have superior statistics across the board. I mean if you want to balance around kills, lets actually balance around it. Lets nerf these LMGs and Carbines so they perform as well as Battle Rifles. Think about that for a minute. The impact of Carbines and LMGs vs other infantry options is way worse than the LPPA/AH/Banshee paradigm. And you all are going on about how this thing is beating the piss out of everyone and winning alerts and causing global warming.
Statistically in ascending order of greatness: KPU: AH, LPPA, Banshee VKPU: I'll call it a tie - all are pretty poor, Banshee possibly eeks out a small lead AKPU: AH, Banshee, LPPA Granted stats don't tell the whole story but on the face of it, seems strange that NC would be complaining...
You are THE MOST VS BIASED player on these forums defending a broken VS aspect, what a surprise. Also........ you have no ******* idea what you are talking about when it comes to the airhammer, have you even looked at the stats & X shots to kill?
For A2G work the L-PPA is king, the Magazine size cert line needs a reduction so you don't get 70 rounds at max level. The Banshee needs buffs & the airhammer is a shotgun on a plane. All ES AI noseguns need to not be able to damage Heavy Armor.
LPPA is getting attention because fights are moving to more open terrain with constructions. This supports larger magazine size and saturation. Airhammer is more technical and benefited the old base system. AH would sneak up on a spawn room and BAM. So LPPA feels like unfair cheese to other factions. Perhaps, LPPA is VS's advantage to construction when TR has lockdown Prowler (+Gatekeeper) and NC has Phoenix.
