Everynow and then I have to delete and redownload the game, its aprox once a week, No idea why Ive had it. I am not doing it anymore why should I? my spec AMD FX 6300 Yes I have it overclocked, but ive removed the overclock and tried, same ****. R9 270X Installed the newest drivers yesterday didn't help, this problems been going on for months Windows 7 64bit. Launching planetside 2 go's a little like this "launch game" Get the loading screen 1% CRASH ok try again "launch game" 1% CRASH ok try again launch game. YES got to the ******* login screen YES YES YES I can play. select character and hit play CRASH ok lets try again, all settings to low, and hell why not, windowed mode too] get to login screen, yes progress. hit login, woop didn't crash, sit there as Amerish loads. 100% loaded. Screen goes black and the UI appears, AND then I am staring at the desktop... In around 1/20 attempts it will eventually load, and I will play 2-3 hours without a crash why does the game not like starting or login in, or anything!!!!???? If I reinstall, it will be fine, login first time for about a week, before returning to the same lets make this user swear at his computer screen.
What do you mean by crash? Is anything recorded in the event log? I don't think this is a common problem. You'll have to go through troubleshooting steps to try and narrow down the cause of the problem on your PC. I'm not going to list them all on here, there is plenty of stuff on the Interweb about how to troubleshoot things. But start off by doing things like disabling and shutting down background processes like anti-virus; removing unused hardware etc.
I mean as in the game closes. Crashes to desktop. turns out running the game from the steam apps directory allows the game to launch (so running without steam)However I still crash when Running game in windowed mode, and clicking my second monitor rendering windowed mode useless Alt tabbing out the game in full screen will cause it to close getting a pop up that overlays the game (IE if I leave skype running and someone calls me, game locks up and then a few seconds later crashes to desktop) Running recursion Running AMD gaming evolved If I start recording with Open broadcast software before launching the game it will crash, my way around this was to launch game then launch my recording software can no longer do this because if I select off PS2 it CTDs... So basically anything that overlays the game or if alt tabbing/ selecting off the game window is causing it to crash. I have no other problem playing other games, recording gameplay or alt tabbing out, I play EU4, Battlefield, hearthstone, TF2, CSS, Garrys mod, Age of Mythology, and minecraft without issue.
