Hi, my Launcher crashing instantly on start up. Security Software is still disable atm. Launcher Cache deleted After every patch i got this problems (but this is only for a few patches then; 1-2 month) Only reinstalling the Game is usefull. without patches the Launcher will work nice Anyone know what can be the problem?
I will second this. Just finished installing the patch for the day and can't start up anymore. It's possible they are still doing maintenance as it says the servers are down. The error I'm receiving is G99 which seems to be stemmed from failing to connect to the login server (which they may have disabled if they are patching/investigating still). I've launched both from steam and the folder directly. All ports for login server/game are open.
Yes because the servers are down...jesus christ. I've said it once, I've said it a million times. This game has by far the dumbest player base of any game (only a few) I've ever played. And I played wow for like 7+ years.
Wow, if someone didn't step on a Lego this morning... Alongside the G99 error, OP, are you having that error or are you having an error where you click "Play" and then the launcher just disappears and nothing happens?
I'm having this and getting no G error codes. I've redownloaded the game and validated my files, same thing happens.
GAME WONT START GAME ERROR G99!!!! RAAAAHHHGGGHHHHAAAA!!!! Seriously it might be a good idea if instead of a "malfunction game error G99" message we should be presented with a "the servers are currently down" message.
SOE made the mistake. It helps nothing, if guys like you spam around some sort of hints in a forum, somewhere on a SOE forum server. Newer Players klick on that green shining button "PLAY" after patch. Than the client close (some newer players think it crashed). Player think: "client is broken, or the patching failed." SOLUTION WOULD BE: SOE let the launchpad check out if the servers are up or down, and send a message to the launchpad, so the player know that he had to wait, because the server is down. THAT easy
I get what you're saying, but what I don't understand is the people that come to the forums to post about it....it only says it in GIANT RED LETTERS that the servers are down...
Did you record that video? Well played. Those are extremely helpful in troubleshooting. My brother had that issue. What he did to fix it (he looked it up) was find the LaunchPad application and Planetside2_x86 and x64 and set them in compatibility mode for Win 7. Are you running Windows 8 per chance?
