Latice system has destroyed your game!

It was, or else you wouldnt have PS2, lol.
  2. maxkeiser

    Not strictly true.
  3. Crowne

Once again, Zergs existed long before Lattice was brought into PS2.

If you'd like to take a knock at one of the devs, or PS2 in general, by all means... but at least come up with something that has an iota of merit.
Unless of course taking a swipe at Highby personally gives you cafeteria creds with your friends and really has nothing to do with the topic. In that case, don't forget to brush your teeth, a^2+b^2=c^2, and that lawn ain't gonna mow itself.

Have you all ever been able to control the direction of the zerg?

Stop acting like that now that lines made it so that they are no longer mindless ball of firepower that the game has turned into a zergfest. You will always have a mindless zergfest; Hex, lattice, or whatever else.

It's just that now with the lattice they have some sense of direction. But it's up to the outfits to create a real sense of strategy.

The zerg can do what it wants for all i care, it just gives the enemy zerg something to distract themselves while the TACTICAL and STRATEGIC minded organized outfits go in and around the zerg fight, pick out objectives, and change the course of the battle through good leadership and organization.

You guys are just denying yourself acceptance due to just refusing to try and get used to it.
  5. maxkeiser

Just not true at all. Been playing on Esamir all morning - the difference between the zerg on Esamir and the Zerg on indar is like night and day (and I'm not just talking numbers/size).

Planetside 2: Hex Super Tactical Strategy Spec Ops Guide Secrets Revealed!

    Step 1: Find empty base.
    Step 2: Flip point.
Step 3: Proceed to spawncamp the one or two defenders who show up.
Step 4: After defenders rage quit proceed to afk for 5 minutes till the base finishes capping.
Step 5: Return to Step 1

    Special Notes:
    - Should the enemy ever mount any kind of defense then immediately stop what you are doing! Its time to pull back to the warp gate and return to Step 1.

Oh Hex System. You will be missed. Without you all of the game's super smart elite tactical sneak outfits are now dead and this Strategy guide is 100% useless. All that is left now is all the dumb people who logged into this game every night to fight eachother.

Huh? What? People on these forums are crazy. This is the best thing to happen to the game. Go play on amerish if you want to play 10v10 or hell go play call of duty. You guys are obviously playing the wrong game.

Hi I'm from PS2 and this is a train wreck that was inevitable

Unfortunately there are people who think ghost-capping is a piece of strategic genius befit only for the Napoleons of their generation. They are incapable of stepping beyond that and, say, leaning viable strategies and tactics in an actual fight; they also believe that not being able to ghostcap will remove their clear superiority over other players.

    To this I say: kthxbai

I think the new lettuce sucks. I tried it out yesterday for an hour then quit.

2 zergs moving around capping with no resistance.
    20 minutes in traffic
after an hour killed about 20 people at 1:00 pm EST on Holiday weekend with Double xp. I only saw maybe 40 enemies total.

    That was with pub platoon.

I went back last night with an Outfit Platoon after our OP about 35 ish of us.

found alot more fights. but they were all on the roads, and turned into 30-45 minute deadlocked fights until one zerg got bigger than the other. There was no sense of progressing in a battle, just wait and hope your zerg is bigger. (I say zerg because with so few points to be at we had about the same amount of pubs moving down our lane as there was outfit members)

After removing SOOOO MUCH from this game over the last few months, all removed to support this "SUPER LETTUCE" system, I cannot believe they wasted so much dev time on this crap.

Congrats to SOE, not only did you waste all that dev time(my opinion), but split your customers into 2 camps that are rabidly opposed to each other.

So now no matter what SOE does they WILL be losing a significant portion of the playerbase(aka 10% min is my guess), temporarily or permanently who is to say.

All because some want to play a different game, but keep their PS2 character.

On another subject, I am getting very tired of logging in to an entirely different game every 2 weeks. These changes the last few months are not minor they have had huge consequences on gameplay. It sucks.

Lattice is the best thing to happen to this game. It's like a breath of fresh and has revitalised the game, and I'll tell you why; no longer can 'zergs' avoid each-other and cap empty bases on opposite sides of the map. That is a huge change. It means essentially that the premise of this game holds true, i.e. LARGE scale battles. I've played with some of these smaller outfits and it's sad to say, but their idea of being 'effective' and tactical is land grabbing empty hexes, which was completely and utterly boring - I even remember brand new players who'd joined, asking "is this all you do in the game??"

Post lattice, I've experienced easily the best fights since launch, and most importantly not just fights at bases but the territory between them, where platoons can no longer side step each other. It's a fallacy, too, that small outfits can't make a difference; aside from them being able to turn the tide of larger battles, there are also plenty of '12-24 and 24-48' player bases being contested.

TLDR; this will keep me playing this game.

You can still flank you just can't territory swipe flank. If your at broken arch you can still get a sundy deployed by zurvan west and attack from behind if your pushing crossroads. I'm not sure if they closed up the goat trail from crossroads/broken arch to gravel pass but it not get asundy there and hit them from the side. The games isn't dead it just promotes larger fights by restricting movement, yet you can still flank. Get a galaxy and drop a crap ton of guys somewhere up top on right on the enemy sunderer. Just mass like 5 gals with 12 each 60 people in one spot with c4 should be able to ran hell.. hope this gives people ideas. Gal bombing with light assualt c4ing from the sky. Good Luck
  15. T-G-K

There they go again, denying any point that makes their irritation invalid.

Then please give me your definition of a zerg, I play this game too, and still see the same zerg from one contenent or another, the only difference IS numbers/size/. >.>
  16. Teegeeack

The zerg has always existed. The only difference is that now I have no choice but to fight them.
Now if only the PS1 "vets" had taken their own advice and gotten used to the hex system, instead of constantly ******** and complaining until they got their way and the lattice system was reintroduced. But no, instead of tweaking the hex system to make it more workable, we had to have a complete overhaul of capture mechanics. The rest of us must kowtow to very loud, whiny PS1 players who think they have some authority over the rest of us.

Pro tip; I never played PS1. So yeah, try some better/more accurate arguments...
  18. Teegeeack

You may not be. But it was the PS1 players who forced the lattice system down our throats. Like most things in this game, whoever whines loudest gets their way, and I remember how much the PS1 players whined about the hex system.
  19. maxkeiser

    Agreed.
  20. innersphere1

maybe ur outfit sucks u can nomore ghostcap things, now u have to fight... too bad uhm???
