    • PC servers are coming down at 6AM PT / 3PM CEST tomorrow for a hotfix that will address the following below. Estimated downtime may be up to 6 hours.
    • PS4 servers will be coming down at 9:30AM PT / 6:30PM CEST as well for a server maintenance. Estimated downtime for PS4 may be up to 1 hour.
    Adjustments & Misc. Fixes
    A more comprehensive balance pass for the Sunderer is currently in the works, in the meantime we've made some adjustments to particularly over-tuned areas of the rework.
    • In a previous hotfix, a bug that was applying the new base stats increases multiple times over has been fixed. This had granted the Sunderer significantly more speed and maneuverability than was intended. We've decided to further reduce the stat boost integration of the performance slot from roughly 100% of each cert to about 50% of each cert.
    • The repair and burst heal amount of the Nanite Armor has been reduced by about 15%.
      • More changes may be made in combination with the balance pass in upcoming patches.
    • The rotation of the cargo icons on the mini-map has been corrected. Additional UI updates and improvements will be forthcoming in future patches.

    I can't understand why the Abilities are being reduced ...
    Wasn't the Sunderer patch meant to prevent Sunderers from being destroyed so quickly?
    If you start reducing the new abilities now, you could have saved yourself the whole Sunderer patch ... Just pointless!
    And the joke is that Sunderers can be destroyed with just one person anyway. You just need the right equipment, just like before the update.
    So what has the Sunderer update achieved? Except that for weeks the Sunderer is the new MBT and everyone has lost Certs?

    Nanite Amor being exceedingly overtuned right now dominating not just the entire vehicle ecosystem of the game but also the choices the Sunderer has.

    Which they achieved vs C4 LA's and Tanks.

    Engineers with Tank Mines. Which are a very rare threat for AMS Sunderers compared to Tanks and C4 LA's.

    Enhanced Plating and Reactive Armor both supposedly protect against Tank Mines.

    AMS sunderers have far better survivability in fights.

    The problem is that Nanite Armor makes Sunderers just roll over all other vehicles in direct combat.

    I don't see it that way.
    One Havoc from the Heavy with the Punisher or as a grenade and the Repair and Fire Sup. will no longer work.

    The problem is that the weapons of the sunderer do too much damage. If the weapons did less damage, MBTs and other vehicles could stand up to the Sunderer better.

    A deployed sunderer can still be destroyed by an MBT. The higher the DPS of the tank weapon, the faster it goes (Powler is probably the fastest at the moment).
    The only thing that has changed here are the seconds how fast a sunderer dies.

    With Enhanced Plating and Reactive Armor, MBTs destroy a Sunderer even faster. It feels just as fast as before.
    For example, the Reactive Armor can only withstand one shot.
    With the Powler weapon P4-120 Kingsnake, which has 4 shots, exactly one of them is stopped. Same with the Magrider with the Perihelion VXC (3 shots).
    The same game can be played with the Reactive Armor with LA and Heavy, only a certain order must be observed and the sunderer is destroyed in seconds by a single one.

    Enhanced Plating may be a little more durable, but as already mentioned, it doesn't help much either. Even here, an LA, Heavy or Engie can destroy the Sunderer alone.

    AMS Sunderers may survive a few seconds longer in big fights, but that's about it. And in small fights, individual players can still destroy Sunderers.

    As mentioned above, the problem is not the Nanite Armor but the damage.

    I would rather buff the other two abilities to keep the Sunderer alive longer, especially as AMS.
    In return, the weapons would have to be adjusted so that the Sunderer can't destroy everything, as is the case right now.
    The Sunderer should be used for transportation, support and spawning and not for fighting other vehicles!

    Also can we have some king of Admin after uptade, there is/are cheater(s) that are ruining the fun for everybody since 2 weeks now on Miller (to protest and show the problem of the current anti-cheat in PS2, But meh...), I know you guys should have receive massive report about it, but is it possible to have a Ban Hammer guy in game ?

    Tell me you don't play Planetside 2 without telling me you don't play Planetside 2.

    Anyone defending or trying to rationalize the current state of Nanite Armor is either completely clueless with how the game actually plays with it being a factor in every single fight or doesn't play the game at all so they don't know how much worse fights have become with it or is someone that is abusing Nanite Armor and thinks it's fine because it's the only way for them to even get kills in the game at all.

    Nanite Armor should not have released with the level of healing it has, especially when you factor in the repair station being used with it.

    Nanite Armor overshadows everything else about the Sunderer update.

    The rest of the Sunderer update is good. Reactive Armor, Enhanced Plating, Deploy Shield, Point Defense, Cargo, etc.

    None of those make Sunderers the near undying doom machines that are driving around shrugging off concentrated damage from various sources like it was nothing.

    Nanite Armor outheals every single vehicle weapon and aircraft weapon in Planetside 2 that can damage a sunderer.

    Did you know that?. I bet you didn't because you don't play the game and have never tried shooting a Nanite Armor sunderer.

    Sunderers should be stronger and more durable in AMS mode, but weaker in Sunderer mode.

    Right now Nanite Armor makes Sunderers stronger than any ground vehicle in the game. Stronger than a Colossus Tank and more durable than a Bastion Fleet Carrier.

    for me is all ok .. the builder makes a good job.
    and if some random idears destroy the concept its better to dont do what the randoms say.
    some games are destroyed because of randoms who say they have a good idear or cry in the forum.
    not make this failure please.

    you do your job good and i hope we can build something against cheaters to make them not create new accounts to cheat again.
    for me this are important.
    because i hunt cheaters with video proof or found them because of overpowered statistic site.

    thanks for your time and help.
    and maybe you and the community can find some ways to make the cheating not so easy.
    and important .,,, make something that the cheaters not can build easy a new account to cheat again.
    than you have not so much work after you build it :)

    A solution would also be that Nanite Armor is reduced when driving and repairs more in the deployed state.
    Another solution could be to prevent the repair from stacking. Either you get auto rep. or from cargo.

    1. unfortunately, the developers sometimes do what the community wants even though the patch was once good (example: NC Max was adjusted once, then unfortunately patched OP again because too many people were whining. But the NC Max shouldn't exist the way it has been implemented since the beginning, but that's another topic)

    I just want to give my opinion here and see what other opinions are shared in the forum to get a better overview of the community. :)

    My view on anti-cheat:
    Unfortunately, I have to say that the anti-cheat system for players hasn't changed much.
    There have been players who can fly with vehicles, are under the map and shoot everyone down etc. since the beginning. These are also usually the cheaters who are very obvious and can still harass the server for hours (last primetime on Miller again, for example).
    Other cheaters with “only” aimlock and no other conspicuous play style i have only been encountered very rarely in PS2 so far and were nowhere near as annoying as the more obvious ones.
    The devs have mentioned in a letter that they are working on it and I hope to see something there. However, I have to consider that the Sunderer patch took about 1 year and that is only what was communicated to us and not what was possibly still being worked on in the background. There could be a bit more communication here, if it's possible at all, because the cheaters shouldn't find out everything ;)

    I hope this update makes the game fun again for tank play.... but in regards to someone above talking about NC maxes... they still suck and always will. I can kill infantry least 3 times faster with TR or VS maxes and same goes for vehicles except maybe 10x faster since falcons and ravens are absolute trash unless the enemy is up close. Even the shotguns up close kill slower on infantry. I have emptied entire clips on enemy infantry and they still survived up close. Probably hit registry problems but never had killing problems up close with the TR or VS maxes.

    That's how Nanite Armor should have been from the start.

    A constant self heal is more useful for a spawn point under fire.

    Having a supercharged self heal + being able to restore most of your HP on demand, leads to Nanite Armor sunderers causing battles to turn into stalemates that stop all movement around the map and makes Sunderers dominate every single ground vehicle that exists.

    This is a feature, not a bug. It's been like this for years. If you play NC and do well, playing other factions will seem like EZMode. NC really needs a course correction on that. Their weapon and defense ecosystem is garbage; but I love playing NC because "freedom".

    If they did one thing; improving the accuracy of NC weapons, it would be a gift! Right now, NC weapons are like a double slit experiment. Sometimes the projectiles act as particles, sometimes waves.. mix in some luck, sacrifice a chicken.. we all know.

    I thought it would be exactly that way. Just as Whitebeard wrote aswell, i expected a New Sundy system that makes deployed sunderers more durable. All the Story written before was about just that.
    What we got are wandering war machines with harasser speed and super cow abilities while moving. Deploying is just an option now. Undeployed sunderers where fine before and are broken super cow now.
    With the tiny bits of "oopsie" patches before its all about new meta.

    Bad patch. Sandi became clumsy and easy to kill. It became uninteresting to play with them. Return to how it was a day ago.

    The main complaints about sundies have always been that tanks and aircraft take out spawn options, ending infantry fights. Infantry players might cry but vehicle players at least have something to shoot at. At the moment sundies can be specced out to not only be powerful spawn options, but also mbt's, capable of taking out all other vehicles. That isn't the ams' role and never has been. Look at the stats. The data. To be honest, if you're going to make drastic changes to a game that is already many years old with a decent player base after so long, you make a series of small changes, or go big. The devs decided to go big. But it has alienated some of the dedicated player-base by ruining much of the play-style they come for each day. So here's a crazy idea - Make a deployed sundy unable to fire any weapons at all, but also make it impervious to ground and air attacks - so that only infantry can take it down and protect it. Make moving sundies a lot more fragile (I mean - a lot) so that tanks have something to blockade against and take down before they can reach a deploy position. This would mean sundies would have to be escorted by tanks / air to the next base, or sneak around the back of bases unseen. Tanks would remain in play and not dominated by sundies. Sundies would do their job of acting as spawn points. TBH, it sounds drastic, but it might be better than what we have now. Tanks / liberators should always be a counter to a moving sundy but not necessarily a deployed one. It is the infantry's job to defend it once deployed. Sundies should be reliant on escorts and other vehicles for protection. Not be one-man death stars. Another thought, have the option that a sundy can swap out its weapons for increased deployed protection. Again, this would make the sundy viable as a long-standing spawn option, but remove its domination of all other vehicles.

    No Sundy update would have been necessary for this. What you describe already existed.... but it was never implemented 100% but only used sporadically for bases.
    I'm talking about the tower or sunderer garages with a shield which can be found on Esamir and Oshur.

    About the Sundy-Update
    At first I was positive when I heard about a major change in the game, so I logged in again.
    After a few weeks I now have to say:
    The update did nothing! It was fun to drive around with an OP Sunderer for a few weeks and make everything flat, but it completely destroyed the “normal” game. The AMS Sunderer was only minimally improved and it looks like everything will be reduced again until it is absolutely useless.

    About the Game
    I would have liked the developers to work on more meaningful things. (Base (spawn options, battle flow) & continent design (Lattice Links), Spawnoptions, Weaponbalancing (Vehicle, Air and Infantry), Anti-Cheat, Bugfixing (Pulling Vehicles via Map, flying Objects, stuck on reload and many more (DokP did some good Videos about it on YT), Outfit Resources (The Bastion is only there for farming and has no big use otherwise ...), etc. ...)
    There is so much to improve in this unique and great game, but unfortunately the developers manage to make the wrong decisions over and over again.

    Some ideas
    Idea for the bastion:
    If this is deployed between two bases, it generates a lattice link between the bases.

    Orbital idea:
    You can only ignite an outfit orbital if there are at least 48 people in the outfit, there must be at least 12 people online and the person who wants to ignite it must lead a full squad or a platoon with at least 24 people.

    I don't think I have the best ideas. But the community has already produced many good ideas that were never realized :/

    Good features that were never properly implemented in the game
    Then there's base building, for example. This has also undergone a major update, but here too it has only been implemented semi well. There are so many good ideas from the community on how to improve this, but they prefer to work on innovations that nobody wanted.

    I loved this game
    Planetside 2 gives away so much potential. Everyone I've played this game with in the last 12 years has always emphasized how unique this game is. And I could bet that many players would return if the game finally showed the potential it has. That means almost no more bugs and useful features that are well implemented and thought through down to the smallest detail.


    I'll stop writing, although there is still so much to say.... ;)

    I hope that the servers will be online again soon and that I can still have some fun in the last months/years of the game :)

    Edit:
    I still thank the developers for continuing to work on the game even if i as a player don't see any improvements in how updates are made (see today).
