It's sad how many people use "hacks" in this game now...

I've played thousands of hours since closed beta. I know what's normal and what's not. Honestly, I see no reason why a legit person would want to play this game anymore.

    Sad. So very, very sad.

mind telling us what server you play on?

You're going to have to be more specific. I've been called a hacker many times =/. There's not as many hackers as you make it to be.

    The OP has a point.

Hackers have indeed become much more common as of late.

I used to, MAYBE, see one every few months. Now though, I bump into one almost daily. It's sad really. Understaffed and underfunded DBG can only do so much. And if it doesn't involve adding some new gameplay mechanic that adds a way for players to spend more money on the game, it'll get put on the backburner. Welcome to being owned by an investment firm.

    Just had this happen today:

He was also floating around in biolabs, overloading the SCU while the shields were up and shooting everybody nearby.
And that's only the most obvious ones.

I don't know how many instant 180° headshot deaths have been caused with the help of 3rd party programs.
I know there are some latency issues and server lag going on, but when i get shot off a cloaked wraith flash at full speed with a semi auto sniper that scores 3 headshots in rapid succession from 100m+ i have my suspicions.

Honestly what servers are you guys playing on?

I play on Emerald and Connery and I've never encountered **** even close to this.

    I'm on Cobalt

If people played games to not encounter hackers, their choices would be very, very, very limited in this day and age, where even in professional leagues, they catch people hacking in various games.

I die far more to claymores, and that upsets me far more than any hassle that the few hackers I encountered caused me. People are obsessed with the 1 out of 100 deaths they have to a hacker, while they die to the most cheesy of stuff maybe 20-30 out of 100 deaths.
  9. Idiocy

In all the games I've ever played, hackers have been far more common on EU servers. Not sure why.

I have chars on both Miller and Cobalt and even in both periods I've played (which add up to about a year) I've encountered a surprisingly low amount of hackers and cheaters. The only ones I remember concretely were 2 no-clippers. One was about a week after I first played the game and the other one was a few months later. There may have been some more encounters but I can't remember them. could be that they didn't have too much of an impact on gameplay.

Apart from the 2 encounters I remember and MAYBE a few that I don't remember I haven't met any cheaters so far. And I'm not defending any VS cheaters here, whenever I see a cheater I report him right away, no matter what faction he's part of.

It's taken flying maxes for clowns to realise!

How valid is all your anecdotal lack of awareness now?

I've come to the conclusion now that console is best for fps games. Sure the graphics aren't as good and fps is usually lower but i think that is a worthy trade-off to avoid the blatant hackers and the ones who can do it very subtly.

I'd rather just not worry about it and play console quality games on console and play the proper decent stuff on my pc. Too many of my fav games have ended up this way and to think it will ever get better is a dumb as thinking evolution will stop.It will always be this way and the hackers will keep upping their game until it costs too much dev time to combat (We're already getting there).

The most i've seen on ps4 is people trying to lag switch and it fails as they become easy kills or just disappear and re-appear. Extremely easy to deal with when you've been gaming so long.

My first pc was an amiga by the way. I know it's not full on hipster but i know my sht and i always spot this crap long before the masses, as will others who have been gaming so long i'd like to think.

The whole "i've not seen it" or "i've only seen it twice" is sooooooooo F cliche now it's just ridiculous. I have seen that said over and over for too long until it becomes undeniable.

You know that saying "you wouldn't know x if x smacked you in the face"?.....too relevant.

EU servers seem to be significantly worse, probably for two specific reasons, one of which cannot be mentioned.

He is aiming/tracking the red (TR) dot on the minimap that travels under the ground.
At around 0:19 seconds he blows up the harasser.
Judging from the killfeed in the top right (its the guy with russia in his name ofcourse), it appears to be a pounder max.
At 0:31 seconds you can see the VS trying to shoot him through the ground.
At 0:33 he blows up another vehicle. You can see the muzzle flash from a seemingly invisible pounder max.

Shut ur ******' trap! Just coz u run into 1 cheater after another while I hardly meet any it doesn't mean I don't know the problem! I've quit playing CrossFire almost a decade ago coz it was so full of cheaters that every single ******' game room had at least one of them in it! I've met cheaters in Battlefield 3 and even on VAC-protected Counter Strike Source servers! I know what cheating looks like and in all the time I've played Planetside 2 I've fortunately seen very few ppl do it!

Based on a trend of the threads about hacking, the EU servers are terrible.

I play on Ceres - Cobalt from the release of the game, and honestly it could be worst than it has been until now.
The most i saw has been to meet 1 obvious hacker by week. Then we didn't see any during monthes. 99% of them were TRs.
Since 4 monthes, i have seen 1 NC flying Max each 2 or 3 days during EU nights. It doesn't ruin your gameplay experience, you just have to move to another aera.
I'd be more worried about the increasing number of bug exploiters (grenades spam in ennemy spawn rooms). I don't think those guys are punished in any way.
But i don't have any opinion about more "subtle" potential hackers. I would say that the skill level of some people sometimes looks a bit "strange", and that they dramatically improved since 1 year. But i have no proof. Perhaps they are just fair players.

Fortunately, Cobalt-EU is not Miller-EU. I hope we'll never merge with those guys.
