I just recently got my computer replaced with a newer system. Using an MSI nVidia GTX970 card with 4 gigs of video ram and on an Intel i7-5820K 3.30 GHz system What I am seeing, right now on Hossin, water shows a checkboard like pattern. Often times it has to be looked at a distance with certain light, so as an example, I was at the North Eastern Warpgate, heading southwest a little, I was looking at water at a distance, didn't look like it was there for a moment, got closer, started seeing the checkerboard like look and then as I got closer, it looked correct, so it seems the problem is light reflection to a degree. The rest of the system stats I will list here: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 1/18/2015, 23:54:34 Machine name: ######## Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.141211-1742) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. I've seen it too with my Asus STRIX 970, and the same thing has been reported by others in PS2 and other games. https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/water-artifacting.206651 https://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/water-glitchy-not-rendering-properly.206376/ Graphical glitches with GTX 970 - Forums - Hearthstone http://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/2kjczd/what_graphic_setting_do_i_need_to_adjust_here/ Fog graphical glitches on NVidia GTX 970 (pictures) Seems to be an Nvidia driver bug.
Thank you for this information... I play WoW and didn't see this, so wasn't sure if this was the case or not. Very interesting to see it is a driver bug as the other pictures you linked, I ran across with the exception of the Planetside 2 ones, and they were referencing earlier last year so I wasn't sure if this was the case or not. The other thing was, I had a GTX 760 card and not the 970, so didn't really see it.
Yeah, it's a bug that specifically seems to appear with the new Maxwell cards from Nvidia (GTX 970 and 980). So you don't have to worry your card is broken or something. Hopefully Nvidia will fix this.
