Is there a reason to take territory anymore with the new resource system?

PS1 lattice system had much more depth of strategy then most people gave it credit for. Some outfits would specialize in forcing a base in the middle of a continent to go neutral to create a new front. Some outfits specialized in dropping in behind enemy lines into a base they couldn't capture and take down the generator and hold it to prevent the benefits of previous bases to transfer to ahead of it down the line. This would drastically change a fight if they were able to hold it for five or ten minutes. Base bonuses actually mattered...tech bonus...faster respawn times....passive radar inside friendly base SOI...Base vehicle repair term/air repair terms. They mattered....and though there was a lattice system which many people seem to hate....only about 50% of the fights actually took place inside of bases most of them took place out in the field. Which was MUCH more fun to change it up. There aren't any fights not based around a building in this game.

It is a lot more then this game has...or will have. The lattice system has helped forge more large scale fights instead the whole massive army avoidance that was in the hex system.

    Short Answer: Nope.

    Long Answer: Nope.

Welcome to battleside kids. If SOE is true to their self-destructive marque, I'd get real pally with your outfit mates, cos they'll be one of precious few reasons to hang on in fairly short order.
