Is the Inquisitor worth its cost?

I have the certs for it but would like to hear some opinions on the gun, as an upgrade to the repeater, is it worth it?

[Disclaimer: Speaking from stats and brief VR testing only.]

It has a lower practical DPS than a Beamer (and its brother the Emperor) unless you set your fire button to mouse scroll wheel or something. It DOES have an impressive damage-per-magazine, but actually getting all that potential damage out of the mag before you die is likely to be a problem.

Since the Repeater is widely-regarded as one of the best sidearms to finish off a damaged enemy due to its spammy nature, I'd say no, it's not a good upgrade (or any upgrade at all), and most definitely isn't worth 700SC/1000C.

imo it wouldn't be worth it if it cost half of what it does now. It's basically an emperor with less damage per shot and a slightly higher rof.

Nope, lemme find my TTK comparison for you. here we go

TTK on the Repeater is about 633 ms, slightly longer due to bursting and such. Theoretical TTK on the Emperor is 890 ms, actually much longer because not many people can click 7 times per second. Theoretical TTK on the Inquisitor is 790 ms, again, much longer because the majority of people can't click 9 times per second. Actual TTK on the Emperor is probably closer to 1088 ms, while actual TTK on the Inquisitor is somewhere around 1200 ms.

Verdict: Inquisitor is crap, worse than the Emperor for the vast majority of people.

EDIT: This was done assuming the average person can click 5.5 times per second, or 330 RPM.

It is ****. It was supposed to be fully auto when they first designed it, but then they realized it was an SMG and made it semi-auto.

It is the worst pistol in the game.

Basically everyone I know or overheard on platoon chat said the same thing about all the new pistols, almost everyone agreed they would buy them for half the cost. Think SOE made a pricing blunder with these considering they arent NS pistols like the last round which were good for all alts thus worth the top tier pricing, would have probably sold 3x as many, but I'm not a suit so what do I know.

After using It for a while I have come to the same conclusion, I cant really push the mouse fast enough to achieve the guns full RPM, a bad design

    Best TR pistol IMO...
    Repeater sucks.
Those who love Repeater thinks it sucks, those who hate repeater think it is better.
Since the emp is only 250 certs,.... that's where your certs should go. If you have a lot to blow, then maybe just trial it out...

If you like the repeater, no reason to switch.

    Save your certs my friend.

    I think I shall

I agree. Any of the pistol options are a tough sell against the Repeater, but this is the only one that doesn't offer anything new. If you had the SC to spare, I'd say go for it. I have too many other uses for my certs to waste them though.

On the other hand, this is the only non-default pistol I could use on absolutely all of my kits. One of my biggest pet-peeves is when I die because I have to reload when they have 0.0001% health left. It's why I'm back to the Mag-Shot after using the Rebel and Underboss for the past few months.

Binding fire to mouse wheel doesn't work. You have to bind fire to two keys and mash them both alternately like that NES game pad thing you stomped with your feet to do a high jump. I don't think there is a gun in the world with 30 rounds in it that has two triggers for doing that because of automatic gunfire. As far as I know only double barreled shotguns have two triggers.

It was a surprising letdown for me.

I have not really paid any attention to the Test Server data, so I figured that old "TR gets a fully automatic pistol" post from the announcement of more empire specific pistols, still applied. When I went into VR testing, I saw that it had a really large clip, so I was happy they actually added one and... was horribly disappointed when I realised it was semi-automatic.

Yeah, that thing has a massive RPM, but when you have to click just to fire off that fast, the actual RPM is MUCH lower. As it is now, I could not feel a difference between this and the Emperor other than the fact that the Emperor felt more efficient. This pistol would have been godly with auto-click macros on gaming mice, but something tells me that that is a banable offence, so the pistol is effectively poor because your amount of clicks is what decides the TTK. I do not know about the rest of you guys, but I can't zerg-click my mouse and aim steady without using both hands on the mouse to compensate, and I think we can all agree what an idiotic idea that is.

This is most likely the worst pistol TR has at the moment because it really adds nothing to the table at all. Save the money.

Most modern side by sides or over/unders don't even have two triggers, just a little selector lever near the breach.

The only special thing about the inquisitor is its large magazine capacity. But the fight is over after about 3 shots of the pistol, after emptying your main gun.
If you manage to use up all the bullets in the inquisitor, both you and your opponent suck at shooting. Since it takes about 7 rounds to kill, it means you have need to miss 40+23 bullets in order to make use of the inquisitor's extended mag. And all the while, your opponent needs to miss about 30 bullets.
  18. The King

Who says you need to only fight just 1 person?
And that's not the only thing special. To you, yes, to me, no..
  19. rickampf

Emperor is better imo, but the repeater still is the best for the purpouse of a side weapon.
Doesn't worth 1000 certs or 700 st imo.
  20. Leal

Yes, just so you can make "Nobody expects the TR inquisition!" jokes
