What do you use and why? I use more ammo but I'm thinking of switching to something else. Was handy for long hillcamping sessions or a long killing spree if playing with a smg. But I asked myself today if increased movementspeed or less dmg taken by bullets or explosions is better and I can't rly tell so that's why I ask you guys.
If you're taking explosive damage as a sniper, you're doing something wrong. Bullet resistance is probably a safe bet for both of the major infiltrator play styles, but ammo is great for sniping sessions.
Nanoweave on a wraith flash for sure, and on an SMG infiltrator as well. With Stalker or if sniping, then ammo belt. If I had a OHK knife, then I'd probably use either adrenaline pump or nanoweave.
I use a fully certed grenade bandolier with EMP grenades. If you play Infiltrator, regardless of flavor, and have yet to discover EMP's.. let me tell ya.. GET THEM NOW.
Well a tactic I often use and has served me well is grenade bandoleer at times. I will run into a big fight with my stalker cloak and sneak into a good position then whip two grenades into a point room....or run through as fast as possible and drop my proxy mines. But yea nano-weave is generally the way to go if you are getting in close otherwise.
As a sniper, just use the ammo belt. You shouldn't be close enough to the action to benefit from any other option. For SMG infiltrator, really any option is viable. Nanoweave for a tiny bit more survivability, ASC for reduced downtime, grenade bandoleer because EMPs are great for supporting the team, ammo belt if you're running around behind enemy lines and run out of ammo frequently. For stalker infiltrator, the ammo belt can be a good option since you lose a lot of bullets when you lose your primary. The grenade bandoleer is good if your weapon combos well with EMPs, like the crossbow does. Adrenaline pump might be worth a try to make knife kills a little easier. Nanoweave and ASC seem less attractive since you should be going for clean kills, for the most part.
Okay so far from what I've read I'm stuck between staying with my ammo or going for more movementspeed since... well, beeing more mobile and faster at escaping and closing the gap should come in pretty handy I think, not sure tho if the movementspeed is giving me a real edge over pple not using it? Well the only 2 styles I play is "assassin-smg" and classic bolt action sniper rifle hill camping.
grenade bandoleer hands down. EMP grandees are super useful. youd be surprised at how many kills ive gotten by tossing an emp at a control point and blowing up enemy ap mines. plus being able to instantly take an opponents shields off is amazing. i like to just toss one at a group of enemies around a corner pop around and start firing into them. their hud is scrambled so they don't even see me most of the time and killing them only takes a few bullets each.
If I snipe long range Ammo belt. Cause its difficult to find an Ammo Pack on a good sniping position. For the rest cases I go with Advanced Shield Capacitor. Its better having your shield always ON when playing aggressive than having nanoweave. Always paired with medkits of course.
For sniping ammo. For everything else I prefer ASC or bandolier. The way I see it is that infils are not supposed to be taking damage. You're just not good at it simple. Hence you flank, wait for the right moment and try to catch individual enemies off guard. So unless you're incautious or your aim is completely off you shouldn't be taking more than a couple of hits per engagement which is where ASC starts to shine. The reduced downtime at max rank allows you to spend more time attacking/actively defending yourself instead of having to run and hide cloaked waiting for your shields to come back and it'll overall greatly reduce your cloak energy consumption if you're the kind of guy who prefers to remain cloaked until your shield starts to come back. Bandolier with EMPs is great in situations where enemies spam deployables, especially motion darts and spotters which would put a spoke in your wheel since your cloak is pretty much useless if you appear on the minimap 24/7.
A bit outdated but I screen capped my loadouts from a year ago and discussed each one briefly on my blog. It gives you an idea behind different suit slots and how I pair them. https://aninfiltratorsblog.wordpress.com/2013/12/07/infiltrator-loadouts-a-tool-for-every-job/ I currently run flak on my SR-7, ammo belt with the RAMS.50, Nanoweave with the TSAR-42, ASC with SMG's. I carry a bandolier loadout for squad play (sometimes). Ammo belt with scout rifles. Stalker cloak builds use adrenaline or ammo belt, I can rarely decide Lots of options, the key is to have a reason for why you use it, and play to the strength of your loadout! Good luck
Extra ammo is a great investment, especially for an infiltrator using stalker cloak or wraith with a scout rifle. I can't count how many times I've run around Hossin as an NC, picking off random people with my fully-silenced scout rifle, only to run out of ammo because the damage on them can be terrible at times. Also, with a silenced Mag-Shot, I went from occasional pest who never used the default pistol to a deadly ghost who would spend literally twenty minutes in an enemy base, picking people off who were off by themselves. Basically, in the end, it's all up to you and your playstyle.
Ammo pretty much all of the time. Sometimes I will find a nice place to snipe and use all of it on kill streaks before someone even looks in my direction. I like ammo for SMG too because I can run around killing people until I run out of bullets too. If someone gets a drop on me or if I just feel like taking risks then I'm probably going to die with or without nano/asc/whatever anyway so I might as well have the extra ammo so I can kill as many as possible.
Ammo Belt. On stalker, especially with the AMP, Ammunition is a commodity that is in higher demand than damage resistance. If I'm doing what I'm doing correctly, I shouldn't really be opening myself up to fights that aren't ambushes in my favor. If the fight is not in my favor and I can't escape...I'm gonna die with or without that 20% damage resistance. Also, why the **** doesn't the ammo belt increase recon dart capacity by 1 per rank?
How I use 'em. Adren pump for long range sniping. Pairs best with Hunter cloaking. Nanoweave or ASC for midrange/general use. Pairs with Hunter or Nano-armor cloaking. Flak for rubbing elbows with large groups of allies when I'm more concerned about splash damage. Pairs well with nano-armor cloaking. Ammo belt for marathon shootouts. Pairs best with Stalker cloaking (pistols need the extra ammo). Grenade bandolier for emp/frag nade spam (great for base defenses). Pairs well with Nano-armor cloaking.
Advanced Shield Capacitor or Bandolier with EMPs. Former is for hit a run(usually with a scout rifle or close range BASR), the latter I use when I fight in larger fights to break stalemates(be it attacking or defending).
For SMG play I run grenade bandolier with EMPs (and nano-armour cloaking): the element of surprise coupled with an EMP blast to drain shields and scramble HUDs is quite formidable. Also useful for taking out enemy motion spotters, which will ruin your day, as well as clearing AP mines, hitting enemy spawn beacons on rooftops, etc. etc.. For scout rifles I run Nanoweave, as I'll often be too far from targets to throw EMPs, but they'll be close enough to return fire if I'm sloppy. For sniping I run Nanoweave but I probably need to rethink that, as the biggest danger is probably counter-sniping, and Nanoweave doesn't factor in headshots.
