Indar central stalemates

Indar alerts are stalemates. The winner of the Alert is the faction that can cap either Indar Excavation or Quarts Ridge, Ceres Hydroponics or Tri-Alloys, The Palisades, East Canyon, Broken Arch Road and the bases north and south of West Highlands Checkpoint There is zero lattice movement except at these bases when the alert population is 33/33/33. Indar probably also has the highest tie percentage I bet.

The lattice lines need reworking on Indar or redeploy side needs more nerfing. On the other three Continents the lattices move alot. often 3 to 4 bases away from the starting positions. We gotta get that into indar some how

Does that not suggest the center of the continent is balanced with respects to attack and defense of bases?

All Towers with A point inside of them, should have A point removed from the tower.

No. It suggests that the bases are all hard to attack and easy to defend.

A few examples. Between Indar Excavation and Quartz ridge Camp (both multi point bases with ability to pull MBTs) is a huge wide open space. Long drive between bases means lots of tanks slowly pushing. (Never ever ever ever change this daybreak. This field is one of the few tank havens in the game) From Ceres to Tri Alloys you are attacking up a hill with pretty much zero cover. The Palisades is so well placed that in order to help attackers they gave it an SCU. The Crown. Nuff said. Broken Arch Road is a narrow choke point. The cliffs on its flank are giggle worthy. Let em snipe from up there. Not gonna accomplish anything. Very little cover too.

Well...I mean that's the idea, the idea is for bases to be hard as hell to attack, but at first.

The problem with bases, and sieges, is that they're too sustainable.

They're invincible first off, there's no walls to smash, no way to chip away at their defense.

Ammunition is unlimited, and supply of vehicles and heavy equipment.

So what can be done, is have nanite walls, that engineers can build up and repair, good for xp, which might also increase the population of engineers.

And make AI(Since players will NEVER do this, unless the pay is immense), supply transports.

If the base is starved of supplies from those transports, by both air, and ground, the base will run out of nanites, meaning, no more ammunition, engineers can't repair those walls anymore, no vehicles, and no heavy equipment.

At that point, the defenders will basically die off, and the base belongs to the besiegers.

The same thing goes for attackers, make ammunition packs limited like grenades, and make sunderers have a limited amount of nanites, maybe let them regenerate nanites, to allow sieges to actually be maintained, but at a rate, that will definitely milk the sunderer dry of nanites if it keeps having to supply and spawn troops.

That's at least, a small idea of how to do it. There's much more that goes into it for sure, it's not easy.

I for one am sick of the back and forth MBT potshot battles at Howling Pass and Indar Excavation.
Very disheartening to log off because the battles are so bad, only to come back 2 hours later to see the exact same stuff.

The lattice lines are creating repetitive fights, they need to change. The Indar Ex - Quartz ridge fight is getting so boring...
  8. FateJH

Even when the Hex System was in place, the fights between Indar Ex. and Quartz Ridge existed and were hard fought.
Even if you route the Lattice in a way that you do not go between Indar Ex. and Quartz Ridge directly, that's still going to be a frequent battleground because the lay of the land makes fielding Armor from the two places to attack the other incredibly easy.

And that is the part that I love about this game.. there are battles that can rage for hours and hours..
go grocery shopping, have dinner, log back in, battle is still going on.. FANTASTIC.

It shows there is balance in this game, and it makes it Planetside2. If you want shorter battles, that would be call of doodoo.. capture a flag.. in 10 minutes, then do it all over again on another small map.. then get back to the first one.. boring.

The long battles and "stalemates" make this interesting. Lots of opportunities to flank, special squads and teams that try to break the stalemate, with Galaxy Drops, Max crashes, and hordes of vehicles .. or a swarm of Liberators shows up to bomb the heck out of the enemy.. so many ways to change the tide... always interesting to see how squads organize to break up the stalemate...

and, if neither side can break through.. I get lots of kill streaks.. either way.. that's a whole lot of fun

put a small base between indar ex , and quartz ridge.

A workable base with a point and turrets.... jeez

Currently all fights on continents are stagnated to handful of territories. Thanks to alert system what opens continents 33% owned to each faction. We could just remove all other territories and leave 3 between each WG and fight it over. Result would be exactly same boring fight over same places. Only occasional change when some big army forms or organized outfit pushes the boundaries little bit further.

I must agree, the left and the right of indar are just like the old crown, no progress but less fun.

I find Eastern Amerish to be a lot worse ..

The Onatha Bio > Sub NA > Xelas Bio is an attacking grind to avoid ...

Yeah it's pretty sad how choke pointy this game has become. I spawned into Allatum broadcast recently and I had no idea where I was and had to check the map. To my suprise that base was revamped months ago, but because west highlands checkpoint is such a clusterfudge and never moves past that base, I haven't had a need to spawn there in months.

I don't remember the last time there was actually a fight at Peris Amp, Indar Bay point, or really any of the bases surrounding the Warpgates on Indar. Something needs to be done about the lattice because I'd have to estimate that at least 60-70% of the bases on Indar go unused the majority of time.
