If you present Ideas it might be a good idea to not keep bringing up PS1 ideas. I see endless threads saying this was better from PS1.. the devs said they do not want the same systems as PS1. I am not saying some of the things from PS1 are not better, I am just saying that posting something that the devs already said is not going to happen and then complaining about not being listened to is so pointless it makes my head hurt. Think up new ideas, use your imagination, don't just copy and paste **** from PS1 its not going to happen and its prolly these posts that the devs keep ignoring, hell I am sick of them and I am not a dev. Go ahead and flame away....
If the same company puts out two games 10 years apart, why would said company totally ignore lessons learned over the previous 10 year development and re-inventing the wheel? When people use PS1 as an example is to help the devs and give them something that as a company they have TONS of documentation of how things were done. I think it is far less helpful if people were comparing PS2 to a non-Sony game, at which point the devs would have no way to know how the feature worked at the coding level and they would have no code examples to test out. Example 1: PS2 should be more like EVE online 0.0 player owned bases, where you can choose what modules to add to the base. Do you think the PS2 devs have access to the code of EVE online to look into how that was implemented and access to the customer support complains and utilization logs to see if the features have problems and how often they actually got used? Example 2: PS2 should bring up the base turret upgrades they had in PS 1. DO you think the PS2 devs have access to the PS1 game to check them first hand, and to to the code of the features? Do you think they can check the logs and see how often players actually used that feature in PS1? Now think, which set of suggestions are easier for the devs to look into, code, test and implement?
