"I need a personal cadre of engineers!"

Way to take everything literally. Posts like yours are exactly why he puts things like that in orders chat. Because people get worked up about it. Obviously he didn't expect all of TR to come repair his max, it was a joke you clearly didn't get. Besides 90% of players pay no attention to orders chat anyway.

Its a very thin line between self refential ironic narrcassim and actual narrcasism.

'Its all a joke' also appears increasingly to be more of a apologist mantra than an actual explanation.

I probably don't get it though. Then again I don't find Roy 'Chubby' Brown funny either.

You're using big boy words and complex concepts. TE isn't going to understand that. I fear that your argument may be lost into the ether due to their seemingly untiring ability to ignore anything interesting or self-evident that's said about their outfit (or their dear leader) and instead respond with misdirection and blind patriotism.

sir I think you need to loosen up sir

I have never played with BCP, but I have seen some videos that make him look a little like a jerk, but honestly I see nothing wrong with that. Hes a BR100, so he prolly has a lot of certs into his max, maybe a little arrogant but not really a big deal.
  8. TeknoBug

Nothing new coming from BCP... move along.
  9. HadesR

I always find that funny .. Not because of BCP but because no one shut him down

Brainless pubs? Only if they followed his orders. There's always multiple hotspots on the maps most times, and like one time he wanted everyone at Tawrich, the NC were on their way to steamroll Hvar and there was nary a soul to stop them (how I know, cause I was one of maybe 3 people in the NC's path). Almost everyone was already at Tawrich (platoons worth of TR) yet he asked for EVERYONE to get to Tawrich!

Please, lame orders are lame. He focuses on a single fight and doesn't see the big picture 99% of the time.

When I had a TR on Matt (deleted now) what I saw was horrible conflicts in command chat and a slogun: "follow me or get TK'd", I had a good share of my Sundies blown up by members from TE only to have them place THEIR Sundy near where mine was and if you TK one of them on purpose, you'll have a handful of them follow you around and TK you for 20 minutes. I was NOT at all surprised when that little civil war happened a couple months ago, and it WILL happen again. This type of drama reminds me of Lowca (and eventually Flurry after the merges) back on SWG, I play games to play games, I don't play games to get in other people's issues.

If you play on both weekday and weekends, you'll notice a pattern in how effective TR is, TR can't really get anything done on weekends but during the week during TE operations that's when the faction can get things done.

Not if you have a bazillion engineers repairing the same thing.
  13. NoctD

We all just ignore him - he's not really mean or bad intentioned, but just someone that's missing the big picture. Those TE guys still get things done in a fight, they just aren't very good playing big picture.
  14. NoctD

There's a lot of other factions and ULTRA... that's why things get done. It has nothing to do with TE.

Buzz lacks big picture thinking, he's constantly shown in with bad orders. I've seen it time and again - he focuses into a single fight and the rest of the map falls if people listen. One time we were on Amerish, TE was camping out at Sungrey, we didn't have a tech plant, and had people assaulting Heyoka but not enough. He asked everyone to go to Sungrey instead, where we already had plenty of guys. *facepalm*

Big picture, don't ask TE. Send them to a single fight, and they can get things done there. There are other outfits on Mattherson that get the big picture better.

There is no "big picture" to PlanetSide 2.

It's an immensely shallow game that at it's "best" plays like a poor man's Battlefield 3 while at it's worst plays like Call of Duty. Monday through Friday from the hours of 7-11PM EST I pretend like PlanetSide 2 is really the sequel to PlanetSide 1 and push the map but after nearly a year of pretend I'm all about finding good fights and passing time with my outfit.

If you focus on anything other than the "good fight" and getting certs at said fight you're playing PlanetSide 2 wrong.

I'm sorry but that's how this game in it's current state works. Resources, territory, and bases all mean nothing. People only care about certs. Certs have a monetary value due to the F2P system and as a result people only care about getting them. The fake "big picture" that you have imagined in your head means nothing when it comes to getting certs thus the majority of the player base couldn't give less of a ****.

When I am in danger of being removed from a continent and locked in my sanctuary I'll start to care about the "bigger picture" because until then it doesn't exist.

I don't get it...he's appears to behave like the kind of people we throw out of platoons all the time. A typical self-centered, loud and rather rude person with a lack of impulse control, combined with a somewhat pedestrian grasp of tactics and strategy, judging from the posters here. What exactly is it that makes him, out of the hundreds of other annoying people in this game, worth of your interest?

That existentialist knife cuts both ways.

You can with just as much validity argue that certs mean nothing, after all unlocking content (which you'll do eventually anyway simply in virtue of playing it any way you wish and logging in somewhat frequently - moreover, unlocking everything, even the flashlight on every gun and having no more worlds to conquer at BR 100 with thousands of spare certs does demonstrate the shallowness of this approach) is just as valid an objective as playing the objectives currently in the game mechanics. Yes having a 'fun fight' is important, but this is just as doable, indeed on miller at least more so. When you do attempt to play the objective.

Indeed, attempting to remove an empires lock on all 3 continents has easily provided some of the games most engaging gameplay for myself and members of our outfit. Its far less about the 20% hookers bonus, far more about the fact that outfits are moving around each other with the purpose of acting as to a larger goal. At the end of the day, this objective could be to secure a vial source of energon crystals, 20-% off your next call girl, or free toffee, it hardly matters. What matters is the organised pursuit of this objective.

And the end of the day, if your searching for a point in the game above and beyond 'having fun' your misunderstanding the defining 'point' of a game.

Whilst there is certainly massive grounds for improvement on this front, there are multiple 'fun' ways of playing the game. Indeed its strange to rule out finding 'fun fights' by playing the objective, in place of farming certs as the only appropriate way to play the game, if you find its the only way you can play the game, well thats a terrible shame. However, its banaly obvious that even according to your own basic criteria is not the only way to play the game and achieve 'fun'.
