People have been complaining about population imbalance. Okay, let me suggest the 4th faction. Just like blackops in ps1, this faction has limited access, in order to balance out current server pop imbalance. I give them the name Pirate/Viking or whatever you guys have for scavengers. They do not and can not own bases, and they use different set of weapons: 1. Bows. like in crysis. they are fun. heavy arrow drop off, but quite deadly, really slow firing rate. 2. crossbows, properly balanced. wont be any OPer than shotguns or LMGs 3. Throwable axes/knifes? silent but deadly. Also, they have the ability to run maybe 3x faster during a period of time. making them assassin-like thieves. Okay lets get down to their gameplay. Since they dont own bases, they spawn in a randomly placed (maybe not totally random) pirate ship in the air. the ship is destructible by ESFs, but it can be tanky. pirates need to defend it in order to spawn, and the 3 factions can fight together to destroy it too. if it is destroyed _____(insert idea here)____. I am really tired of the current weapon types in this game: 1. LMG/Carbine like gun that you just ADS and shoot. 2. shotguns/SMGs. 3. sniper rifles. Come on, even Half-Life 1 had better collections and variety of weapons. so add some fun weapons. They can be made underpowered, but fun to use, and I would definitely play those once in a while. So what do you say besides NO?
It is way too early in the games lifecycle to bring in the forth faction. And your suggestion for archaic weaponry like bows and throwing knives is right out sci fi game not fantasy and unless all the bows are one shot kills they would be slaughtered. I think your overestimating the damage bows can do there was a reason guns replaced them in history. Nope not liking this suggestion and since a suggestion for the forth faction comes up every couple of weeks I am going to say. NEXT.
instead of bows, can they be crossbows that shoot lasers. And instead of knives, can they have swords that are also lasers and cut through anything?

Thats exactly we can use a 4th faction. they dont own bases, so they dont interfere but only cause distraction. they can be used to balance faction pop, while mechanics are being balanced. Bows and ancient stuff are silent, stylistic, deadly and fun. Why do you think they had light saber in Star Wars, among other million melee and archaic weapons in sci fi movies? im just bored with all those simple-minded point-and-shooting. I enjoy knife streak as an infiltrator in the dark nights more than any other things, and I am sure you guys have experienced the same. So why not make such class that can do that? if not 4th faction, then the 7th class?
I like this idea better than the talk of an AI alien invasion that's been brought up, and I don't mean just on forums.
I will only support this idea, if to be chosen as part of this group... you must have only played on one faction since your character was created and logged an insane amount of playtime + xp.
We need a ninja faction. They could establish tunnel networks, use primarily melee and distraction weapons like swords, smoke bombs, etc. and hide in the shadows. Make it happen, SOE.
How do you know the faction will fight everyone equally, how do you know they won't just side with their actual faction.
Because it is exclusive. And players are chosen to be given a chance to play them according to the population needs. It is not always available to all players. This is meant to balance the pop, so stop questioning my intention to screw up the pop.
