I keep dying as TR HA, even against a medic. I also notice that the shield takes forever to regen so it's pointless to survive. Any tips for TR HA?
Save up your certs for nano weave armour its kinda become a must have these days or at least for me it is, whats your usual loadout and weapon attachments?
The TMG-50 is mid-long range gun and it's harder to use than a gun like the default Carv. For a start, use the Carv. It's decent at all ranges and far more forgiving. also you should get attachments asap, especially a red dot sight or Night vision sight because the ironsights block your viewpoint a lot. Get resist shield if you don't like the regen on the default shield, it's always useful even if it's not at full. then when you see a guy, press f and, press right click and click on the enemy. You should win 100% of your 1v1s as a HA except against other HA's, in theory at least. If you don't it's because you missed. Most of your problems are probably already coming from that, so using the Carv will help you out.
The TMG and the Carv have almost identical recoil. TMG also fires slower, so you will hit less of your shots if you're imprecise, and it's much more effected by bloom and flinching. use the default carv. You have it already.
Sounds like you're not aiming well, honestly. A medic should be the easiest target you face. Put softpoint in your gun for close to medium range. Start with the head shot attempt and drag down to the middle of the body. This motion will both give you optimal kill time and help you learn counteract what little recoil the TR have to deal with. It also wouldn't hurt to let go for an instant and go back to the head if they don't die right away (20 rounds or so). Planetside 2's cone of fire (NOT the same thing as recoil) resets just about instantly, so going back for another headshot->down drag isn't bad if the enemy doesn't go down right away, and will improve your odds. People tend to overfire in Planetside2 by a large margin. If facing a carbine or assault rifle near cover, just duck behind cover and let them shoot a wall for an instant. Then activate your shield before stepping back out. Chances are more than good that they'll not have enough ammo left in the clip to actually kill you through the shield and you'll get free shots while they reload, if they live that long. Do not make small movements. Movement penalties to cone of fire are really harsh for LMG's. Commit to moving for the fight, or standing for the fight, or move then stop and fire from standing. Firing while making small movements over and over makes you an easy target with bad accuracy. I still catch myself doing this a lot every night. Very bad habit to get into.
Totally untrue, medics have the best guns in the game and their self heal is like a free nanoweave (or 2 nanoweaves, if you miss a bit) They're easily the second best class in straight up fights. Losing to a medic shouldn't happen very often, but they aren't the "easiest target."
TMG is a fine gun for medium to long range engagements, I try to at least have a x2 reflex or the x3.4 scope for it and the forward grip which is great to reduce the horizontal shift, the vertical can actually be helpful as the gun can kick up into a head shot. However if your finding that your dying more to the enemy at close to medium range then a shift in weapons could help, I have my loadouts set per situation of close & long range fighting. As Gun suggested give the carv a whirl for closer engagements and see if it has any benefit, ROF can mean all the difference at that range or trial out the close quarters LMGs.
/sign As I usually have a FPS of around 15-20 in large fights the chaingun is the inly weapon I can hit anything with You just have to check taht you are taking point. otherwise your killing of friendly forces will rise fast... You can also very well surpress a door witha lot of hostiles outside. just stand in a good position and fire at the door frame.
I have that gun but I find it hard to use since the spinup takes too long. I seem to be missing my hits alot with that gun since it's so close range.
Basically all LMGs for the TR are awful. The whole ideal of empire specifics have basically gone out the window for the Terrans. Avoid the CARV-S like the plague. The Decimator and Annihilator only do those two things to your wallet. If you really want, just stick to the default CARV, there is not real recommendation for the others.
I win out against the Orion with the MSW almost 100% of engagements, and do well against most NC LMGs when in CqC. Not sure what you're doing but the MSW has lightweight compnents making it identical to the Orion in handling. You should look into it for everything in close as it wrecks face.
I agree with this, the MSW is basically a SC buyable orion, but if hes not good in CQC then he won't be good with the MSW either.
TR HA SUCK as of late. Update 1 screwed the TR HA over by giving all their guns more recoil and a considerably faster CoF bloom. TR rely on a quick burst of accurate Fullauto fire, SoE removed that ability in the last patch. Now TR have the recoil of the NC, with the damage of the TR and the accuracy of a hip fired GAU8 Avenger. The TR in the next patch need the recoil of a braced .22 rifle, the damage of the TR and the accuracy, atleast with their first like 20 rounds, out to maybe 50m, of a Precision JDAM. Past the first 20 rounds, then the CoF can bloom out all it wants.
