...for members is a complete wash. Even though this is a holiday weekend it feels like pops are extremely low--are people getting completely frustrated with Planetside 2 crashing V E R Y frequently? I've had so many crashes I don't even know if I'm going to bother to attempt to sign in again today. I'm really hoping that SOE shows their paying members a good customer service gesture by either extending double experience a few days in the future when the crash issues are cleared up or something. At this point I'm strongly considering cancelling my membership even though the All Access benefits are about to start up. For those of you who aren't having problems, more power to you, but I have talked with several other players and they seem to be frustrated with this too.
Indeed, every time I try to leave a continent, PS2 crashes and I have to Control+ALT+Delete my way to the Task Manager and manually kill the x86 client...there's a few other bugs as well...such as when I ADS, my "sight picture" mouse movement will randomly become VERY sensitive, making aimed fire practically impossible...not EVERY time...just randomly... Seems like its a typical SNAFU on SoE's end...its Friday, turn the lights off and we will deal with it next week...Oh, sorry about the bonus xp weekend for PAYING subscribers because we sort of "broke the game"...Enjoy!
Well it's easter sunday and 420, some pretty widely celebrated holidays. Also members are a huge minority. A members only quadruple XP weekend probably wouldn't significantly increase the pop this weekend.
I think it'd be better if they did a double XP for everyone once we get through the current set of issues. Would help with pops too.
It's really a bad idea to give member-only double XP during Holidays imo. As you said, most people aren't going to log in during the Holidays unless there's some event, and what's x2 worth if there's no high population? Best part about x2 XP were the bigger-than-usual fights, servers finally getting stressed again and huge zergs fighting each other while lag was secretly killing us all... But those times are over
Crashing on cont switching is by far the worst thing for me this weekend, among other things. Login at an empty continent, switch, crash. Login to the continent i chose before the crash, announcement that an alert is about to start. Alert starts on a different continent, switch, crash. Enjoy said alert while dealing with a dozen driver causing black screens and pray no further crashes happen.
Other f2p's do all-pop weekend and holiday specials. Why would free players waste the time here when they can gear up elsewhere? Bad decision on SOE's part. If they want to give an xp boost to members, then do x2 xp for free players, and x3 for members, or x1.5 for free and x2 for members.
I think the 64bit rollout causing crashes, people hoping continents causing crashes and of course it being a holiday make the numbers dwindle a bit. Waiting for that hotfix to patch the woes.
Lol you guys expect SOE to make this game fun and entertaining during a 2x XP weekend? Thought you guys would know this by now....
