Wish i had a TR Jaguar to play with, but the Vx6-7 sucks, 50% ads mov speed, only 30bullets... I have Sirius and for medium ranges it sucks... Bough Pulsar C and for CQC sucks... Bought Solstice SF, sucks.. only cool for enginer noobtube spamming NS 11C seems great for medium range, ads speed and 35bullets, not bad.. but only 650rpm, u cant compete with it in CQC situations.. I really wish i had TR Jaguar on VS, it fits my playstyle, is a beast, dominates CQC and medium ranges, recoil is good, 40bullets so u never miss a kill due to magazine size, 75%ads mov speed for dancing... there isnt any downside :_( Any advice? reroll isnt a viable option, i like VS, even more after last GU, and im already br60 here, and my HA has the best HA gun of the game, SVA88... unique, except for ammo..
I've been using the default Solstice carbine as a VS LA since beta, with ironsights, and had no problems at all. I know it seems counter-intuitive to use the default gun as it's seen as the "weakest" of them, but that's not always the case in PS2. Give the default Solstice a try, you might find you like it.
Not really to me I find the Trac-5 to be a better gun then the Jaguar. They tried to make the guns as "sidegrades" and on the whole they have succeeded pretty well with only a couple of exceptions, it is usually personal preference when determining which weapon is better rather then a case of weapon A is always better then weapon B.
I love my Solstice SF with underslung attachments or whatever else I feel like on it. I think the Vx6-7 is a great weapon for sneaking around with a suppressor on it. Don't seem to have any issues. Your loss I guess?
I prefer the Lynx over the Jag personally. But I do agree, I really don't find ANY VS carbine that fits my style. Merc for my NC, Lynx for my TR and LOVE them both, and I switch between all the dang VS carbines trying to find the one that stand out. No luck yet.
I felt similarly, until they came out with shot guns, then i started feeling dirty and jumped to buy the Solstice SF. Holy ****, i love that gun. It is so much fun (in my opinion) smoke grenades+underbarrel launcher+ nice RoF to clean up the mess= good ol fashioned fun
"Nice" Rof? It has a suky RoF.. only Pulsar C is worse and that´s because Pulsar C has lots higher Damage per Bullet.. the only good thing about SF is the underbarrelstuff.. nothing else makes this gun worth using...
My carbine expereince comes mainly from engineer playing, but they are the same weapons. I freaking love the Trac-5, run IRNV and wreck house with it. My vanu runs the 3.4 scope on his solstice and I have had not issues killing all those who do not believe in the great disco aliens. My NC runs the -S version for the underbarel, cus boom boom. Also I freaking love the Trac-5, have I said that yet?
The base thread premise of "grass is greener" aside: When I compare the VX6-7 to the Lynx, the VX6-7 has faster reload, higher projectile speed, a tighter cone of fire, and a slightly more predictable horizontal recoil, while the Lynx has ADS speed, a larger magazine, and a lower first short multiplier. Overall, they are rather similar. The direct equivalent of the Jaguar would be the Serpent, but the two can barely compared. The Serpent is a bullet hose like no other, with DPS matched or exceeded only by Shotguns, while the Jaguar plays more towards accuracy and sustainability, with a reduced firerate, but good magazine size, mobility and accuracy. I suppose that's just factional differences. As for SMGs, I think the Sirius is one of the best, mainly for the Projectile speed.
sounds like the OP wants to to have a i win gun. best at everything bad at nothing. this is something that you cannot have you either take slower rof guns to control recoil and shoot and med range or go for a bullet hose and stick to close to short ranges. as mentioned by others the Solstice is probably one of the best performing guns all round in the game. i would say it performs only slightly worse than the trac 5 due to its 30 round capacity. the only time VS and TR should be changing from their default carbines is when they want something new becuase they are bored or they want to specialise at a certain type of combat. granted the more i think about it even with the NC the same can be said
Serpent got higher RoF and smaller magazine, that is not necessarily a good thing if you know what im saying! HSNV + 0.75% movement in ads(makes it just that desirable, server sided lag makes ads moving superior aswell) All around the jaguar is still better than the serpent, jaguar still walks that extra mile where the serpent wont. factional differences? looks like it!
If you want a carbine version of SVA88 play as TR, if you want an assault rifle version then go NC(although carnage horizontal recoil is problematic).
Use the Soltice Burst. Now that you're done banging your head against the wall, go back to the VX6-7 and enjoy your kill spree.
WTF, your not using a shotgun. Here i thought the Phobos was one of the only guns in the VS market place. On my VS i prefer the solstice, first time i dropped in game as LA with solstice iron sight, got a 15 kill spree at Vanu archives. True it helped having many hours on a NC LA and knowing the base, but still it was a lvl 1 completely uncerted VS i dropped in with. LA is much more about how you play/knowing the area than what weapon your using. There are also people out there with the solstice S that just don't miss 10-75m with gren launcher. But i suck with it.
