I don't know which weapon to buy (VS)

You should really give the SVA a try. 0.75 is a huge advantage in CQB and midrange engagements, something the polaris definitly lacks.

Compared to the Polaris it has the 0.75 modifier, faster reload, bit higher rof (somehow i really dislike 650 rpm, it simply feels inferior in CQB engagements..) and whats really important a balance horizontal recoil (not having to compensate for the right drift really helps on longer engagements. Prior to its nerfs the SVA was probably the best LMG in the whole game, now it is still a very good and solid choice. Ask most BR100 VS players, most will say Orion or SVA.

Compared to the Orion the SVA has a higher magsize (comes handy in midrange fights), higher bulletspeed (also good for longer ranges) and importantly a good compensator (which seems to even out most of its higher vert. recoil) plus a much lower First Shot Recoil Multiplier (1,75). This really gives it the advantage when it comes to midrange burst firing.

Orion also has 0,75 ADS, it has higher RoF and better accuracy (still crap). Maybe SVA is better in midrange but with Polaris I dont even have to burst fire. So - when I need CQC weapon I equip Orion, when I need midrange or when I dont want to expect I go with Polaris and Im always better than SVA

Just keep using the Orion, you won't find anything better.

Trust me, i have over 3600 kills with the Orion. I know its pros and cons.

Basically Orion is the better CQB choice (higher rof, higher hip accuracy) and SVA is more towards midrange. And i'd take a 0.75 movement modifier over every other trait, any other weapon can offer..

There is a reason why SVA-88 performs best out of all LMGs in KPU, KPH, Q4KPU and average headshot ratio.
  6. Shanther

Depends on the time frame of data you are looking at and the sample group. Depending on the sample group you need to take into account that the Orion is the starter weapon.

Before they nerfed the SVA-88 you would be very much correct when it came to BR100s and people close to it. Now I would argue the Orion is on top for that sample group.

    LASHER FTW!!!!
  8. Bankrotas

This data from last month time frame wise.
  9. Shanther

If you are looking at BR100's I am a touch surprised. Although I would venture the guess that the Orion is very close to the SVA.
  10. Bankrotas

I'm just checking out monthly stats. Orion is still better in base fights IMO, but if someone can't work with it, SVA-88 is more controlable in some ways than Orion anyways.
  11. Shanther

The Orion has a high first shot recoil and a low overall recoil.
The SVA has a low first shot recoil and a higher overall recoil.

It is easier to compensate for overall recoil then it is to compenstate for first shot recoil. That tends to be why people find the SVA more controlable.

Plus, unlike the Orion, SVA-88 has access to Compensator which makes its overall recoil lower as well.

There are situations were the lasher will pull a good kdr, but you REALY need to play to the way the gun works, which is NOT the way any other gun in the game works. Abuse thsoe corners. If you want to use it all the time because its awesome (like me) and not just pull it out in those situations though, then yeah, your kdr will suffer.

the best heavy assault AV easily.

the dumbfires will be better within spitting range, but past spitting ragne (say 100m, which is likely much farther than effective dumbfire range but we are being generous) whats your competition?

lock-ons? The lancer deals the same damage per shot to vehicles, and fires faster, unless you just dumbfire the lock ons in which case its the same rate (2shots/11 seconds), but then they are just a worse dumbfire so why?

Annihilator? Same as lock ons but with a longer lock on time.

Striker? generaly considered worse than the annhilator due to having to maintain lock instead of reloading.

Pheonix? 300m range and the lowest damage output do to just how slow the fire rate is.

Lancer also has the largest damage pool (aka most damage before running out of ammo)

So here are the situations another luncher will be better than the lancer, in no particular order

    1. within 50m (dumbfire), special note for sunderers, due to wierdness in their resistances, lancer is the best at any range vs sundies
    2. the place c4 on an oblivious tank and detonate with your rocket (lancer doesnt have the splash)
    3. AI (though lancer still outperforms anihilator, pheonix, and striker for AI)
    4. you dont want to practice enouph to be able to tag ESFs consistantly and so take the G2A lock on's as a crutch instead.

Really? lock-ons have 1000 dmg, Lancer has like 300.
And Lancer has no splash dmg so its HARDER to detonate c4 because you have tp hit directly
  15. Frosty The Pyro

full charge lancer has 750 base damage, but vehicles have a -100 resist, so its 1500 damage per full charge shot. vehicles have a -50 resist to the lock ons damage type (so 1500 again). remember the damage displayed for any given weapon is its anti infantry damage.

and yes it is harder, that list was the situations were other launchers are better than the lancer
  16. patrykK1028

Oh I didnt know about that resist things, is it the same to all vehicles? And could you tell me the resist rate of normal dumb fires?

And sorry, I thought these were Lancer advantages.

And one more question: what do you think about NC and TR "exclusives"?
  17. Frosty The Pyro

The striker suffers because its very close to the same thing as the annihilator, it debuted as a better annihilator, and got some nerfings to be a worse annihilator.

The phoenix has the worse damage output due to very slow fire rate (due to not being able to reload wile guiding), a very short effective range, its the slowest missile in the game, turns like a beached skywale if you are lucky, and leaves the user completely unaware of his surroundings.

However it is LOTS of fun and due to the guiding nature can consistently achieve non-los hits. It is also the absoulte best weapon for killing engineer turrets Its at a pretty good place to be honest.

hits decently hard, its just hte fire rate that keeps the dps at the bottom of the barrel.

On resistances http://planetside.wikia.com/wiki/Vehicle_armor_and_damage_resistance isnt bad, but it is missing a good bit

sense this list there have beena t least 3 new damage types, one for dumbfires, one for maruader/canister/ppaII, one for the airhamer. Maybe more.

The dumbfire ones are something like -50 for most ground vehicels, but less for sunders, something like -20? you can do a simple test, it takes one less lock on rocket to kill a sunder than it does stock dumbfire, even though the stock dumbfire does 1100 base damage and the lock ons do 1000 base damage.

    ^^
    here are the resistances.

no it isn't the same, and dumb fires are listed under "heavy ordinance". it is a complicated mess, but you can generally assume that the weapon stats are only true when you are fighting vanilla infantry.
  19. Frosty The Pyro

The dumbfires used to be heavy ordinance, when they dealt 1700 and 2000 for stock and deci respectivly. They changed the direct damage to 1100 and 1300 and gave them a different damage type, which is not listed on the wikia.

that wiki is perpetually out of date.
