just wondering peoples opinions. im finding even with compensator, with HV rounds its near impossible to compensate beyond 2 rounds at long range.

is HV rounds really worth it on the gaus saw?

Was wondering the same thing... just invested 130 certs in compensator + 3.4 scope only to notice that this seems to be less easy to use oveall than iron sights + nothing o_O Sure the thing does nice damage at medium range (dont like it 1 bit for CQC) but the spray after 2 bullets = hilarious. Getting gunned down by enemy engineers from the same range is not.

No HV. HV adds recoil to your weapon and the Gauss SAW just got a buff on projectile speed in the recent Update.

    From the Weapon Data Sheet:
"High Velocity Ammunition - HVA increases bullet velocity by an unknown value as well as increasing vertical recoil by 6%-12% and extends the range a weapon reaches it's minimum damage value at by 10m."

Spend those 100 certs on something more worthwhile.

    Missed shots are not firepower.

If you can hit the target without the upgrade, but not with it, then it's not an upgrade.
