How to beat a ZOE MAX

    The ZOE MAX has 2 main weaknesses.

    The first is groups.

    The second is dumbfire rockets.

    And as it is with all MAXs, kill the ******* support or theyre just going to get right up again.

    Still better than yet more threads posted by strawmen written in broken english demanding that the last 3 things that killed them need to be nerfed.

    Again, like several other people on this forum, you're missing the point. My post wasn't about which thing is better in a specific situation like a bio lab. I said any of those things can dominate the game in the situations where they are used and they do. Trying attacking a tower base with vehicles or air against a couple of striker squads on the air pads and let me know how that goes for you.

    Air and tank zergs are an easy problem compared to the ZOE? That one almost made me laugh. I'll try to remember that the next time we're all pinned inside a spawn room with 50,000 explosions constantly spamming the doors. :rolleyes:

    Yeah, people on here seriously need to learn how to deal with the fact that they are going to die a lot in this game and most of the time its not because something is OP or the other person was hacking. Its because the other person out-played them. People need to put their egos and pride aside and just deal with it. Its better than crying for SOE to nerf everything in the game. Act like freaking adults, guys.... instead of children.

    During my time spent behind enemy lines, I was able to study the main weakness of the Charlie Sheen Crab, or ZOE MAX.

    A dumbfire rocket to the face.

    The main issue with ZOE is the speed buff that allows them to dodge heavy hitters that are usually used for taking out MAX suits...

    ...Which is why I just can't wait for Flamerthrowers to come out, so I can saturate an area with damage and send every single Vanu damned Hell Crab over to Briggs where they'll turn it into a Shrimp on the Barbie.

    I think you mean Zoidberg. Never compare us to Charlie Sheen again... :mad: But yeah, a rocket to the face or a well-placed c4 will kill most ZOE Maxes, especially the dumb ones using KA instead of FA.

    ONE ZOE max is no problem TWO ZOE maxes are not a problem heck
    five ZOE maxes are still doable but the problem is when >>24!<< ZOE maxes appear with support (engies and medics) because they do not have to over extend to kill really well like NC maxes have to, they can stand back and shoot you with the support safely behind them mitigating the only weakness by repairing/rezzing them

    so the problem is the ONE disadvantage ZOE have is nullified by the engis and medics they have with them and THAT is why NC can not beat them because equal numbers of NC will be pounded before they can do a thing

    note unless you forgot how to use A and D on your keyboard you should never list dumb fires as a weakness of the ZOE in fact it is a strength they have over the other maxes that they can doge them

    and having problems with grenades remember you can doge them as well and do not forget you have the longest range max, you can kill them BEFORE they can reach you with a grenade or with shotguns or with other crap

    Yesterday I was in a biolab as my ZOE self, and ran into a group of 4 infantry that were looking at me. I immediately turned and ran away. I started with full health and got away with 1 bar left. The magic trick they used, they pointed their guns at me and pulled the trigger. It wasn't even all HA's, it was 1 HA, two engies and an infiltrator.

    In another biolab last night, the TR ran a MAX crash and slaughtered the VS. Why? They had a ridiculous number of MAX's. Numbers en mass ALWAYS wins in this game.


    If ENOUGH people would get Lashers, the TR and NC would whine about Lashers being OP (even though it's the worst performing heavy weapon by a wide margin) because it could stop a MAX crash dead. However, it's not because it's amazing, but rather because MASS NUMBERS ALWAYS WINS.

    Well placed RL followed by a steady burst of LMG kills ZoE quite well, just dont miss with the RL...

    Kinda funny, how a well made thread can contain so many mistakes... Like the decimator one. Just saying...



    A decimator hit doesn't kill a ZOE, the damage penalty is only applied to gun resistance.

    Also "flanking a ZOE", did you keep in mind that any MAX weapon has a TTK of less than 0.5 seconds?. That's less than 1 meter running, you can't flank any max, no even if they're using AV weapons. (Well if the max sucks you can, but that's another history)

    One of the rules of game balance, if you have 3 things that cover the same role and you need some special tactic to counter 1 while the other 2 has more counters included the "special tactic". You have a proper imbalance issue.

    NC Maxes still have the edge in CQC, TR has a more versatile arsenal.
    But Zoe is for sure the most useful tool for Maxes. Lockdown seems nonsense and the shield is situational.

    Roll VS; shoot ZOE in the back.

    Tower - Striker squad. High Flying Zephyr Libs. Job done. Alternatively Viper / HE Lightnings. Bit riskier. Or the my personal favourite. A full squad of ESFs lolpodding the **** out of the tower. Try and lock 12 ESFs at once.

    Air / tank zerg spamming the spawn room. Redeploy - MANA AV Turrets, Phoenix if in range, Skyguards, Bursters, AP / Enforcer Vanguards.

    ZOEs camping a bio lab / tech plant / amp station. AV Nades and lots of praying.

    If that wasn't a viable reason NOT to nerf a " slow " moving NC Max then it's certainly not a viable reason not to nerf a fast moving one.
