How often do you /suicide?

Recenty tested this and Redeploy did count as a death but not every time? , so /suiciding may simply be a faster redeploy

Never. Don't redeploy when I'm cornered either as it's more fun to try and escape. Remember once trying to escape a scout radar mosquito on Amerish as an infiltrator back when it couldn't detect you if you were cloaked. Could have just redeployed, but I would go to a tree, then cloak and move to another tree, recharge cloak, cloak again and move to another tree. Made it to a building and the guy got tired and went away but we dilly-dallied for ten minutes like that. T'was fun.

I typically only used it (and in the beginning I used it quite often) for situations when I felt that the 10 seconds was needed to resecure a point. Or when I needed to get to the WG faster that my squad so I could have a gal waiting. And a few times after a ****** instant action in the middle of nowhere.

It's amazing how much 10 seconds mean to some people.

that said if im on flat ground where its hard to suicide i will redeploy.. and wait..and wait.. and wait... there we go.!

Redeploy never counts as a death. And I haven't used suicide since early launch but from what I remember you would still have to wait to deploy no? So you get to the map instantly but then have to wait 10 seconds. With redeploy you wait 10 seconds for the map to come up but then can instantly deploy. In the end it's the same thing except one costs you a death and time cuz you have to type out /suicide. Correct me if I'm wrong please. I'm quite curious if there really is any advantage at all to still using /suicide.

pro tip, if you instant action while still alive it will focus the map on where you will deploy. if its in the middle of nowhere then just cancel it and grab a gal or an ESF.

You can't instantly deploy after the redeploy timer runs out. In fact, I believe it's a 15 second wait, which IIRC is even longer than the time you need to wait to respawn after death. It certainly saves time to kill yourself instead, and that time can be crucial to stopping a cap in time.

The deploy timer only starts to count down once you are "dead". When you use the deploy key, you have to wait for 10 seconds before you are "dead". With suicide, you are dead automatically and the counter starts going down (even though it shows you the death cam that is zooming out on your body). By the time you've hit the map you only have a few seconds left. With the deployment key, when you hit the map, it's because you "died" and so the timer has the full time left.

Altogether deployment key takes 10 seconds + spawn timer while suicide takes the time to type "/suicide" + spawn timer.

If we need to quickly redeploy to another continent during a massive alert, we do so by suicide. especcially on current biolab timers, every second counts

All the time when playing with the platoon.
Being in an outfit that fights all over the map (and different continents at the same time) all the time and doesn't push one lane till the end of times, we can't simply wait 20 seconds to mobilize
