This, ladies and gentleman, is the man supporting the new sniper nerf.
  2. IamDH

Just to make this clear since its rather misleading
  3. IamDH

People find it unfun for the receiving end since there is nothing in their power to do.

Its a one-way thing. The best thing to do is to move a lot and as i mentioned you have to stop eventually
  4. efil4mocx

Because sniping is supposed to be hard. It is also supposed to be rewarding. Not being able to kill someone with a BASR headshot is not rewarding.
  5. IamDH

Well if you think of it in that manner. Wouldn't this be sort of a buff?

Right now its kind of a hit & miss situation but in the future you will have a definitive distance
  6. efil4mocx

No because it cuts down 70% of my kills. It is a definite nerf, not to mention it stifles my gameplay.
  7. IamDH

So wouldn't it be safe to say that you are uncapable of killing within 150m?

Or to be more accurate. Less capable
  8. efil4mocx

I should be more clear, it cuts down 70% of my kills with BASR.

Within 150m, I am more capable of killing with my SAW. I do not see a point with using BASR if my targets are solely within 150m. I bring BASR to be less effective <150m but more effective >150m.
Now I am equally ineffective with both weapons >150m, while I am still more effective with SAW <150m. What is the point of BASR?

In the current state of Nano, My son and I calculated the avg. of headshot nano-users. Each time, we killed 20 people. We did the test 10 times total. We found that approximately 15% of all people shot had the nano protection. Sometimes it went as high as 20%. But that's still only 1 out of 5 people on average. That's not too terrible. We did the test because of all the rage going on and I wanted some numbers before making a huge stink. And with them buffing the other suit options, if they just left it the way it is now I would have been perfectly fine. I'd take nanoweave over 150 Meter cap any day of the week.

Any way you look at this, it's wrong. If you read through my posts on this forum I think I've presented more than enough to prove that. I'm not honestly sure why I keep trying though. The only way the devs get opinions it seems is on twitter or reddit or whatever. Why do they have "Official" Forums? Perhaps they enjoy watching us argue til we're blue in the face. Maybe this whole 150 meter cap thing is just a massive troll on SOE's part. It's funny guys, jokes over, right?
  10. IamDH

Oh i see your point now.
You do present a good point which i can not deny

Says who? Also if you want it to be more rewarding, then why not add a 1.5x body multiplier?
  12. Gundem

So... You hate MBT canons OHK?

You really like the way HE/HEAT is right now? o_O
  13. IamDH

To be fair to the developers the 150 meter limit is WIP and nothing has been planned/announced for certain. It is simply a starting point which would imply that it will probably not be 150m
  14. Lividine

This isn't the first time they release a "starting point". It likely would be 6 months before they actually got around to "adjusting" it.
  15. PapaMojo

Actually, knowing SoE, they'll start at 150m....then make it so that T1's only do ohk headshots at 100m, T2's work out to 150m.....but these brand new BASR's just released and available for just 700SC will do OHK headshots out to 200m! Get yours now! (Please note: 200m may only be temporary and this range may be adjusted at SoE's sole discretion and may be reduced within one week of release. Thanks for shopping!)

This, ladies (Lividine), and gentlemen, is the guy who doesn't recognize sarcasm.

How do I make this bold? Is it this button? I think it says post though, mayb

I do believe the new snipers will be better than the current ones whether or not this change even occurs. If you ask me, this has to occur so that the new snipers actually have a role/advantage
  18. efil4mocx

He maybe sarcastic that one time, it doesn't change the fact that he, like you, is virulently anti-sniper.

Truth.... And that is exactly why I will be gladly leaving Auraxis. I prefer Planetside to Battlefield, but a change like this will definitely push my interests in the other direction. It's nothing less than a tragedy to implement a cap for sniping in an open world game like this, even if it's 300 Meters I still won't agree with the decision, although 300 meters likely would keep me from leaving the game altogether. And I don't even snipe all the time, I play sniper maybe 20% of the time. But this will damage my experience so much that the game isn't worth it.

I enjoy Immersion! I love being able to get a mosquito, and fly into battle. Then grab a light assault, and fly into a base, surprising the enemy. Then grab my trusty Ram .50, and keep them from being able to push back. I like how playing every class feels different. I love having to aim 15 meters ahead of a player and 5 meters above their head, and watching the bullet travel for 1-2 seconds while my target is continuing his trajectory, then hearing a beautiful "CLUNK" sound as I watch my target fall to the ground! Knowing that I just stopped a healer from getting to his squadmates for revives. And taking away that experience will take away my interest... It's about the story, it's about 1 player turning the tide of a base, feeling like you accomplished something when you finally achieve victory, and it was possible because of a series of events that other players and yourself have done, had you not taken that shot, or blown up that sundy, or cleared out a room of maxes, that victory would not have been possible!

Sorry for the length of that last paragraph, I'm passionate about this game, and want it to succeed, and I can clearly see that this change would not be beneficial to the game experience and thusly should not be implemented at all! I don't want to play a bigger version of CoD, where the best players are the ones with snipers at 20 meters quick-scoping....

There are many ways to make new snipers without implementing a 150 meter cap to the old ones. Not only is that offensive, because I spent money on my Ram. 50 and other snipers. But it also will clearly present a "best in slot" weapon. We already have enough of those in the game if you ask me...

New sniper rifles aren't even necessary to begin with. Why SOE would rather give us 3 different snipers, that all will need balanced, than to work on getting more content and fixing the existing balance issues that plague this game is beyond my logic.

Doing something like this is nothing less than a scam. Limiting range on current weapons, only to release a superior weapon that does exactly what the old weapons used to do!!!! I refuse to support a company with that kind of morals, and I hope I'm not alone.
