Exactly. They want to feel "special" and crave attention. Ragetells and complaints in yell chat encourage them even more. There are also people who simply enjoy making others feel bad, in real life there are consequences but video games are just perfect for them.

It's also not really the point. The control standard is merely a way of establishing the parameter of competition. If you step outside of it by cheating, regardless of the end result - it is artificially shifting the value. It should be a standard between two people, unaided, to make there any point to playing at all. Thats why it is a competition of using the same basic tools. If you are using something else to play for you; then you are a coward who isnt really participating. When I first saw the evidence, showing named 'vets' from this game using downloads. People who have been here since the start and subtly cheating at every single encounter, I wasn't surprised. After all their continued above average accuracy - even after entire days of non-stop playing, was never reasonable to begin with. If they were that good, they'd be reflex experts and millionaires. Now you may think that such people only have a limited effect. This can be true in certain hours, but is very noticeable when you have a considerable overpop and 'certain' individuals turn up and change the course of a fight. I remember the days when I would chat on teamspeak with Mattiace and others. We would laugh at some hackusations back then as well. Until one day, we noted how popping into a room full of people all aiming at the door was suicide for all - sans a very select few repeat customers. One person I saw virtually pop in and out facetanking entire platoons worth of damage. And all to the tune of 'hes just experienced' and 'using medkits well'. What they seemed to neglect was his perfect headshot accuracy and target acquisition speed of 'zero seconds'. As battles went on and it was always the same people over and over again. Soaking bullets and instantly picking out peoples locations, no matter how obscure their elevations. That it was apparent just how worthless a game planetside 2 really is. The cheat volume is very likely 40% or more of the entire 'total' playerbase. Less than that on some days, higher perhaps when certain outfits arrive. Thats not intended as an accurate figure, more some basic math based upon average log in numbers x with the number of cheat forums for ps2 currently active and discussing new working scripts and downloads. So don't take the game or its cheating seriously. Dozens of BR120's are doing it. Some even laugh now and say 'so what'. Because they know this game is on borrowed time. Just forget about it and have a little fun before it dies. The days when it mattered much are long gone and honestly? These blatant cheaters aren't the worst and almost least annoying/comical even, of their kind out there.You should be more bothered about those people think are 'skilled pros'. Because you know, you need to 'get gud bro' if you are going to go against people who have made your head hitbox as large as a sunderer now don't you.

Client-side technology allows "cheaterside" to its finest is why this happen. I saw this before. Some light assault on Connery warp in and our of cap point room and pump action 1 shot anyone. How in the world DBG chose to use client-side technology which in-turn makes it easy for cheaters is beyond me. In 2020, we are still using game engine from the 90s ... Ban that cheater won't do much until the game is built on technology that eliminate possibility of this type of cheating.
Remember, DBG didn't choose this tech - PS2 is a mod build long ago on the FreeRealms engine. They don't have engine devs - they're basically modders.
