How bad is the subtle hacking in this game?

What I see is shooting people and they don't fall after several shots (landing on them) or them killing you anywhere from 1-3 shots. That doesn't make sense with the guns I see. And visibility sucks at hossin, yet everyone is hitting as if it were clear as day,and I know they shouldn't have anywhere near that kinda accuracy as far as the fog's radius goes (soup thick past about 300-500 meters) So seriously, do they not have auto-sensors for this stuff by now?

I have yet to find the first hacker in this game. Not saying there aren't, but I've never seen one, which goes to show how low the percentage must be.

I've seen some dodgy HA's with auto activating shields on Briggs. A teleporting gal or two that's about it. There would be more genuine players than hackers otherwise PS2 would lose all their player base very fast.

Cheats come and go as they get bored or get detected and banned.
It seems it was about this time last year (maybe a little earlier), that there was a wave of hacks playing thru. Very frustrating.

I haven't played in many months and just started again. Seems right now is a bad time to be playing because of cheats.
When someone 50+ meters away, goes full auto on you with an SMG, and all you here is ting/ting/ting (headshots) - 100% hacker! As an SMG's bullet deviation absolutely will NOT allow that to happen in game. It can ONLY be achieved using cheats.
And I have seen many instances the last few days of things like this happening. So quite a few players right now.

Guess I'll wait till this wave of hacks is over, no sense trying to play against these self-entitled idiots!

It seems that used cheats, bug abusing, glitching, scripting, 3th party software in general is increasing -but i guess it occurs because of decreasing population at all server.

Fill a 10 liter bucket with 1 kg sand and 8 liter water and not anybody moans about mud. Spill out 6 liter of water and all can see the mud. I guess that is what happens here with PS2.

It is often said that cheating playstyle is coming from newbies. But i have made different experiences. A good deal of permanent players with their old and known outfits are the "tricky" ones. Players that would never leave PS2 if all other People are leaving. So, after decreasing playerbase this people are left and here we are.. we can see more cheating stuff then before because of the missing filling element of round about leaving 3.000 players the last 2-3 months - from aproxemately 10.000 to 7.000 average (even weekend). :)

Subtle hack is like 57% of the PS2 population.

It's true, i see subtle hack everywhere, every day....

    Lol, seriously ppl...

Planetside 2 is loosing players cos newbies are totally destroyed by our PROs.
    New players just leave.
PS2 is nothing more then another shooter so if you are good in one you are good in this too.

Constant nerfs and buffs occurs thanks to this Pros also.
Lets see Ravens for example they are good, they can hit tanks outside render range but on this distance me manage get around 30% of hits.
I have seen plenty of BR100 pros stopping entire armored push with Ravens from beyond render distance with almost 100% hit rate.

Similar banshee when enemy is moving I will probably spend entire uncerted mag on it often not manage to get kill but our PROs now manage to get 3-4 round burst kill. And here we are Banshee OP please nerf!!
More than year back every PRO pilot do this with standard AA nose gun but now for sure they use perfectly accurate pod spam.
Specially guided missile perfect hits on infantry are rather funny cos ESF Gms are rather inaccurate.

I must agree with people saying that hacking is outfit wide problem cos some outfits are without clean players and probably every larger one have some percentage of PROs.

You're aware that you just resurrected a thread that had almost been dead for half a year? :p

On topic though, there's no telling how many subtle hackers there are, because they're obviously trying to avoid getting caught, they're called subtle for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised though if some of the 'really good players' turned out to have some form of minimap/wallhack.

Exactly this ^^ I'm not a bad player and can usually hold my own, but I also get my *** kicked and have off days...i make mistakes, sometimes i miss, etc.... But I know of at least one player who appears "too" good. Meaning, never missing, never has an off day. Sure...there are players that play 5-6 hours a day and they become very good at the game, but a human is a human, and we all have off days and make mistakes. You know...the kinda of player that makes you say, "hmmmmm...i don't know about this guy..."

There are those that hide it pretty well. Turning it on or off whenever they feel like it, they won't tell you they are hacking, they wont show you.

K/D means nothing, hackers killed it for planetside. Hackers killed it for every game.

Just wondering how many people here still think Lance Armstrong did not cheat? ;)

Until you get a real life experience of disillusionment, you probably continue to believe in heros and friends blindly, mostly due to loyalty and maybe because of WANTING to believe it ain't so.

I was playing Quake Team Fortress (1) a long time ago. I kicked *** and made it in the Top1 clan. We kicked *** and then we got accused of cheating (wallhack, ESP). I watched the videos in support of the accusations and could not see any definitive or suspicious ESP besides good players playing a game they know in and out, sometimes on maps they built themselves.

I knew my clansmen in person as well, we met yearly at the CES/E3 show for days of LAN parties. I KNEW they were not cheating. I was good at the game without cheats and they were of similar caliber, some better.

Then, I was told by one of my teammates that he does use cheats. He was using different textures, with fullbright colors so hiding enemies in the dark stood out like light towers. He did use wallhacks too and most of my team's best players were using the same cheats as well. This happened after I pretty much left the game, but it was still a huge wake up to reality.

Another example is one of my best friends, who was a very caring and considerate person who turned out was using his desperate room mate girl for sex. She was illegally in the country and had no job and was living with my friend. I don't know how it started, but learning that my best friend was using another human being's being dependence on him for sexual exploitation is not something I could imagine.

All this experience made me much more honest inside. There are things I know and there are things I do not know.

I wrote all this not to say that all suspected or leaderboard players are cheating. As I said, I do not know.

I wrote all this so you can ask yourself if you really KNOW what you know, or just believe it is so.

IMO, Planetside 2 ist is not more polluted with cheaters like most of the other popular online shooters. (maybe a little bit more, because of the absence of a working anti cheat system:eek:)
But i think thats not so worse with cheaters in PS2, because the battles are mostly 48+ versus 48+ and all faction have nearly the same amount of cheaters. Even if one faction have more cheaters in the battle, the percentage of cheaters is not so high that they can turn the outcome of a battle. (but they are still annoying)
Unlike turnbased FPS with small player setups. Only one cheater can turn the situation, which team will be victorious.

The downsides is of cheaters in PS2 are:
PS2 is around for quite some time now. So you will find a lot of vets. On the other side you have some percentage of cheaters.
So in a battle newbys get slaughterd heavily. And thats simply not fun...(for them:) )
So either they quit quickly or will start to use cheats to compete with the vets. (or other cheaters)

I remember 2 years ago, my first 200 hours in PS2 where horrible as a newby, i had a 0.1-0.2 KD. After around 300 hours i slighly increasing my KD.
But i think not so much newbys will be so masochistic to practice 200-300 hours to barely compete with other players in PS2.

Oh ffs, can we stop with the necromancy and the outdated threads? Most of the PS2 hack sites has shut down and cheaters are banned within hours. Forgelight has one of the best anticheats known in gaming and distributes bans based on whether or not you are actually using hacks instead of being stat based.

Locking this up due to the age of thread. If you'd like to continue talking about a topic that's been dormant for a good length of time, please consider creating a new thread for it.

    Thanks guys!
