Why dont you add a debugger like many other programs to send you reports so it's easy for you to track them????????
I'm having the same problem as of today, worked fine before the patch. Gona give it few days atleast. Its of no use to QQ over this SOE is prolly working their ***** off for this Keep up the good work.
I have the same issue as the OP.... again. This is the second time a hotfix has broken my working copy of Planetside 2, and it is getting very old. Here is a copy of the crash error. I know this is not with my computer, as I've been through this before. Sony, please try and remember this bug and try not to reintroduce it over and over again, thank you. I had the same issue and tried various things. deactivate all other running tasks deactivate firewall and AV Nothing seemed to work after the latest patch. As a last attempt I tried to uninstall my AV and the game worked after that. Seriously WTF. I've been using Symantec Endpoint Protection.
You attempted to uninstall AV and it worked? Or..you successfully uninstalled AV? I use SEP (Symantec Endpoint Protection) too! I uninstalled the game today and re-installed fresh using STEAM, first time around I had used the patcher and downloader from SOE's website. It's clearly related to the patch that came out as nothing else in my system has changed.

Yes, they did. Did you even read the post with the crash logs. It's a similar crash during program start-up that occurs on BOTH clients STEAM and SOE installs.
@ Rago ... I did.. the 2nd set of crash logs were taken when it was installed with just the installer. The 1st set of crash logs is when it was installed via Steam.
For any inquiring, I've opened a ticket and submitted ALL logs to the technical team, DXDIAG, MSINFO32, Symantec Logs, Crash Logs, Screenshots, they have all the information I can potentially provide to hopefully resolve this. I'm going to start analyzing the dump files myself trying to figure it out, employing the help of some friends from Ars Technica and the Tech Republic. I can tell you what I do know for those having errors...this is kind of OT but... If you update to Win7 SP1 via Windows Update, all your DX9 games can potentially break if you use NVIDIA drivers / Graphics Card ... this is due to the EVGA Precision application. I encountered this last night when I started updating everything in hopes of fixing this error. There are 2 MSKB articles detailing this problem. TL;DR... Waiting for tech team to respond to my ticket, all information submitted.

Welcome to the party, Crezyman03. Do your best to follow this topic so we can ensure we continue to get responses. Have you submitted a ticket yet with all the information the CSRs require? If you don't mind my asking...what is your.. * Video Card / Make / Model / Driver * What kind of AV do you use. * When was the last 100% known time PS2 worked, what happened between it working and then not working. *Please don't over exaggerate*.
No on the ticket submission. I use EVGA Nvidia 580 I use Symantec EndPoint Protection (just uninstalled to test) I was playing this morning and game crashed a couple of times then tried to relaunch and boo yah ! Dead in the water. EDIT. After uninstall of SEP it seems to work and further digging, SEP was thinking the gamelauncher.exe and planetside2.exe files were some type of tamper files. Scan type: Tamper Protection Scan Event: Security risk detected: C:\USERS\PUBLIC\SONY ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT\INSTALLED GAMES\PLANETSIDE 2\LAUNCHPAD.EXE File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1000.157.105\Bin\DWHWizrd.exe Location: Deleted or access blocked
Crezyman03, You are the 2nd person to uninstall SEP and get their game back up after the same error. I too can confirm a **** ton of those tamper errors, I never seen before until this Hotfix, screenshot to come. I'm NOT cool with uninstalling my SEP, so I've been playing around with settings. Worst case scenario, I will uninstall it and then test. Thanks for the update.
Just tried to run the game and got the same crash...after adding the recommended files to the allow list in the Firewall. 3 separate Tamper Alert errors were created. Definitely SEP related. I am about to upload a video of the entire process. Note: I disabled SEP prior to loading the game up.
