Hossin Bases ready for Testing.

    I've discovered a massive framerate drop can be caused by having Fog Shadows turned on in certain circumstances on Hossin:

    1) Sunset or low moonrise - ~10-20 FPS drops
    2) Standing near or atop an ESF that's kicking up dust from the terrain: ~40 FPS drops
    3) Just turning it on at all: ~5-10 FPS drops

    These effects are not as noticeable when Fog Shadows are off. There is a performance hit using Fog Shadows on other continents but nothing nearly as bad as on Hossin.

    It's tricky, but not impossible, to cap the B point at Cairn Station by running back and forth along this exterior wall:

    I had enough resources to test this more, it seems aircraft launch from different portions of the pad sometimes. I was able to get another tree collision on launch by holding down the spacebar while picking a scythe from the terminal. It didn't happen every time, sometimes the scythe would spawn on the other side of the pad away from the tree.

    I've tested this some more and it's tricky to replicate. I've only gotten the ESF thing to happen twice, but it's a huge hit when it happens. Once getting out of my own scythe, and once jumping on top of someone else's reaver.

    I think this is also just tied to shadows in general. On my system fog shadows only amount for about 5-10 FPS loss, while shadows at all can account for 40-80 FPS. Turning shadows from ultra, off, and back to ultra (which doesn't get them back to the ultra setting) will at times shift my FPS from being in the 40s to 100 on a GTX 770.

    I have no problems as long as fog shadows are turned of. But since I think it looks kind of akward with them turned of I do not care and most people will not be able to turn them on anyways.
    On Hossin there needs something to be done about low level graphic players anyway.(especially those, who don't need it at all.)

    is it normal that i cannot flip point in Hossin base? like edgewater overlook, its been several minutes im next to the A point and it stay under TR influence. I promise there are none infiltrator in stalker cloack as i m alone.


    Edit: Ok figured out it was a base in the grey part of the map that i suppose arent ready for the moment. As i can cap other bases in the middle map.

    Also i can tell that its not very well optimized as i cant get over 20fps while i can get up to 60fps when im alone on other continent (64bit client)

    I've been using the /bug report tool to report every little bug I encounter on Hossin. Additionally, I'm giving feedback that me and every player I've talked to in regards to the gameplay and over-balancing throughout this game. I hope the developers are getting them because I'm doing my best to break the map so development goes more quicker.

    It's so boring on PTS because they need to advertise testing sessions more. Also, what's happening in regards to Nexus, the battle islands, and continental locking??

    This morning I went to all of the bases that were listed as finished, excluding the Warpgates, and checked the performance. I went to the center of each base, found the laggiest spot I could, and then used a keyboard input to spin around for 20 seconds while Fraps logged the performance. I also went to two Amerish bases - the one which I believe is the most complicated base on Amerish, and the one which has the worst performance.

    I play on a GTX770 and a 4670k and was running PTS on Ultra using the 64bit client.

    Generally, a lot of the Hossin bases hover at sub 60 FPS. From just my personal observation, these bases were the ones with the most small trees surrounding them. In the case of Fallbridge Chemical, the culling for interior and exterior spaces seems to either not be working properly, or the base is designed in such a way so that there is still a significant performance impact.

    Here we have a better idea of the problem. Shrouded Skyway is currently the worst performing base on live - it runs so poorly that I hate fighting there, actively avoid it, and when I do play there my FPS is so bad that I have a difficult time even aiming. What concerns me about this is that, not only do many of the bases on Hossin perform worse than Shrouded Skyway, my complaints about this base's performance while it was still on PTS were ignored. Bug report accomplished nothing, messages to the developers on the forum and twitter did nothing.

    As it stands this really can't continue. I will not be able to play on Hossin with a GTX 770, which is ******* far and beyond the minimum requirements for the game, and are enough to run the other continents at 70-80 FPS, easily.

    I'd like to know if there are any plans to optimize Hossin bases so I know that I can play at them without turning my graphics settings down from where they are for Indar, Esamir, and most of Amerish.
