Higby Pls Summary 7/23 (Directives, AI weapons, Alerts, Valkyrie)

    Some notes I took throughout.

Directives Rewards: Weapons and Armors for infantry, Lumifiber for vehicles.

Alerts: Will be triggered by players. When a faction gains 75% of a continent, an alert begins. If that faction reaches 90% control they win. If a defending faction reaches 40% control they win.
Alerts: New types not related to territory control are in the works.

Valkyrie: THEY DO EXIST. Just a little bit larger than an ESF. Has 5 weapons to choose from, mounted on the belly. They mimic other weapons: Basilisk, Vulcan, Hornet, Rocketpod, Banshee. The rumble seats look at bit limited. A dumbfire rocket dealt ~65% of its health.

Quick Spawning: Hitting spacebar after death allows you to quickly respawn at the nearest available location with the same loadout.

AI Secondary Changes: They're planning on doing incremental changes to the AI weapons.

    - Canister: New reticule that matches infantry shotguns. Spread reduced from 1 to 0.9. Maximum damage increased from 80 to 100.
    - Marauder: Velocity increased from 150m/s to 175m/s.
    - PPA: Magazine size decreased from 50 to 20. Maximum ammo capacity decreased from 350 to 200. Magazine Capacity certification changed from 5/10/15/20 to 3/6/12/15.

Bulldog Changes: Damage decreased from 600 to 500m. Radius changes are happening but he didn't specify. If I may speculate, they'll probably match the new HEAT/HE radius. 1m inner splash radius and 5m outer.

Edit: I forgot to mention what Higby showed off near the end. Turn your attention to this awesome guy's post below.

    Can you explain this further?

    Thanks for the summary.

inb4 crashes because a faction reaches 75% control on a different continent while an alert is already going on.

The rewards for the upcoming Directive (Achievement) system will be exclusive weapons and armor for infantry directives and lumifiber for vehicle directives.

As I said in the other thread. Though the AI changes are supposed to be incremental. The current proposed AI secondary changes are in no way at all going to make up for a 30% HEAT splash nerf.

Each class & vehicle has mission objectives...

Get 10 kills with HEAT canon, kill 15 vehicles, Auraxium a Tank Weapon, etc.

Complete a few for bonus certs rewards

Complete a bunch and get a special weapon. Usually copy of default, but with set attachments (often unavailable ones), and unique cool glowy effects. complete all objectives (including Aurax of new reward gun) and unlock new unique armor for that class or lumifiber for vehicles.

I think multiple alerts are allowed?

    I dunno :\

Otherwise maybe you can't trigger an alert till you finish the first, so hold your 75% territory while capping 40% on the alert continent. Win the other alert and trigger yours.

Wait, canister max damage is increasing to 100?

You do realize I understood the proper definition. It's usage in a sentence. And then took issue with the fact that the current changes are quite gimped compared to the incoming nerfs? Thus leaving Armor in a questionable state for a period of time. Nah...

Just act like I don't understand the word I used. That'll show me

Note that they all GLOW. Like, in the dark glow.

Unknown whether camo applies to it or if it overrides.

Considering how Platinum/Gold guns work, one would think they'd be camoable...

but you're covering up some sick effects :D :D

I'll prolly have a loadout per class with camo applied and the rest for front line LOOK AT ME WHILE I KILL YOU!!!!!!

    (oh dang I died)

    per PELLET

It's a 20% dmg increase to minimum damage....

    With tighter pellet spread...

    and better reticule.
  14. Scr1nRusher

and it will still be bad because of a small magazine and it cannot look up.
  15. Kanil

Er, wasn't this supposed to be at the last spawn point you used? Nearest available location is annoying as hell, and makes this useless every time someone deploys a sunderer under a bio lab, or you want to spawn next to a boost pad, or a specific sunderer.

I hope that's not the case, I already end up inexplicably at a base I didn't want to spawn at often enough, nevermind it now happening without any warning ahead of time that it will.

It tells you the location on the screen. Nothing "Without warning" about it.
  17. Kanil

Can you cancel it once you initiate it? How will you tell which Sunderer you spawn at, when attacking?

I am looking at that floating island and I can only come up with 3 possible answers:
    1) Nanites
    2) Vanu
    3) Clegg

Other than that omg I want it now (but I can wait. no need to rush)

The directive reward weapon descriptions and attachments via Higby twitter...

Personally I'm okay with the attachments being locked in place, but I think we should have a choice when it comes to scopes.
A scope is a pretty big part of the weapon (some may argue it's the main part). I think having no choice in the matter may turn some people off, and make some of the weapons seem undesirable in different situations (night-time combat for example).
