[BUG] help with settings....

    Since the latest patch I've noticed a decrease in the distance things render. For example, shelling from a turret I used to get hit markers and be able to see the impact at 400m+. I tested with a friend, and he indicated I am hitting him but I'm not getting the hit marker indicator. Also, it seems I am getting shot from people who aren't rendering on my screen. It happens in the larger battles where there might be 100+ in the vicinity.

    I've messed with all kinds of settings and even went wired instead of wireless, no help.

    Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing this?

    Servers have been ******** themselves lately, not much we can do ATM.

    This has always been the case actually - only so much can be rendered so it starts with the nearest / highest priority stuff, anything further away will either be partially rendered or not rendered at all. I'm sure you've seen tanks in the distance with no turret - and been hit by stuff that you can't see.

    The problem is common in the mega battles where even nearby players suddenly pop into view - and exacerbated even further when the performance goes down (like the current server situation).

    Yeah - in two years of playing I've always noticed a tendency to get hit by long range shots from Maxes that I can't see even though can Q spot them (but the dorito doesn't pop up even then). And I get no hit marker if I shoot back in their general direction so either I'm missing, out of range or doing damage I don't know about.

    As Gundem said, the servers are pretty scrappy at the moment - on EU where I play, at least. I'm also getting lots of lag hitches (mostly but not always) in bigger battles and last night my kills weren't being logged and people couldn't rezz me (I did eventually get the kill credits though).
